So, their new business model seems to be: completely overprice individual plugins, so that their subscription bundle which covers all of the plugins appears to be inexpensive?
Honestly, who needs +100 plugins anyway? I find it rather inefficient to have too many options available. Most productive workflows center around having a limited number of carefully chosen tools at hand that one knows in and out.

I got a deal of my lifetime $179 with no code then five mins later an email with deal of my lifetime $199 with no code then about an hour after that here's your missing code... for the $199...
What an effing mess.

I just got another Voucher for the Subscription. They're making all kinds of mistakes. The ONLY thing I made off with was a free license for the DSM V3. I'll have to wait on that Shadow Hills compressor when it's on sale for $29.

I would go for a subscription that let me choose 1/4 of the plugins for 1/4 of the price (e.g. 24 plugins/$50).

During the recent Megasale Dirk gave the impression PA were moving to a new pricing model with permanent low prices. This seems to be the opposite.

Another thing: as far as I know, they do not even have a dedicated reverb effect in their range of products. So even if I was impulsive enough to subscribe to their bundle, I would still need to resort to other plugins / bundles, since their +100 plugins bundle does not even cover all the essential categories of effects!

in a way, how long the e-mails, are the communication is far from transparant, but if you read between the lines.
another thread was opened, by someone, who bought a lot (all?) plugins. and did the math, subscription bundle would have been cheaper...
it depends on what you want. i can't judge the plugins i do not use (but i think there a lot of great plugins with PA, but i am covered mostly by other products, or the need isn't there), i am "obsessed" with unfiltered audio stuff... (just like for glitchmachines and modular stuff, i use also "normal" stuff haha).
so most plugins, 90%, aren't of interest to me.
but i think it could be something for people, who want a complete plugin bundle...
what isn't transparant, the 3 days deals, or what are they called.
the new 6 plugins including vouchers and discount; not that cheap. but no problem for me, personally, i am covered.
and indeed to compare it to adobe, which many people dislike....
strange. for some it is a let down, for others it can be a opportunity. every model has its problems. it seems.
i only will wait for the lion (it sleeps now)...

Another bad thing happening right now. Apparently Dirk turned off commenting on the heavily discussed posts in their group.
This is not a good sign for me and does not convince me to trust in their company any longer.

That‘s the business logic:
The heavy hitters (we) are no longer producing enough revenue because we‘re covered and saturated.
The whole subscription model aims at NEW customers. For them it seems fairly attractive.
PS: my guess is that in (let‘s say) one year there will be a kind of WUP for all us non-subscription heavy-hitted old moaners to generate / milk some revenue from us...

What does Save 50% every year - For as long as you stay subscribed! actually mean. Is it 50% off the 149 next year or 50% off the PA subscription price they set next year?

The biggest error of this new scheme is imo that previous made buys can not be put into some value by waiving the licenses (like Eventide is offering for upgrading to Anthology). Shall we all unload that stuff into the second hand market? Dirk would love it because that generates revenue for him without any effort. Dirty Diggler!

As a "heavy hitter", this model is totally useless for me.
I would be interested in a "customized" subscription / bundle, where I pay a subscription only for the plugins I want and choose. And, possibly, with a rent-to-own option.

The problem for them would be that probably nearly everybody would prefer that.Michael L wrote: Mon Jul 15, 2019 10:58 amI would go for a subscription that let me choose 1/4 of the plugins for 1/4 of the price (e.g. 24 plugins/$50).
From PA's point-of-view they are offering extreme value, and feel this is a fantastic deal. However, many of us are less about "How much can we get?", and more about "How much do we need?". Unfortunately, there is so much crossover in their inventory that it is extreme overkill
