Unless you're counting your broadband connection, who pays for porn?
The UK shortly.

Yeah. Treason May attempted to pass another stupid law yet failed to think it through, as with all her previous work as PM and in the Home Office. HPC stuff though.

Which is a good thing. I'm not writing PA off - just slagging them off for the tricks they've missed - but this model requires the currently over-inflated pricing and is unrealistic. So no one is happy. Great products - terrible marketing.

Is someone brave enough to bet that at the end of next year there is still no PA update plan?

Prediction: they'll keep prices high for a few months to try to funnel people into their subscription, but they'll be back to the fire sales by the holiday season when they realize nobody's biting and that's the only way they can make any money off of their massively devalued plugin stable. Unfortunately this means I might not be able to get LION when it's released because it'll be too expensive

I think the better for would be to lower their price around $70 and mark their plugin as NFR.
Look at all the money they lose with 2nd hand licence.just make a great price and everybody will have their plugins.

Ah yes, inspired by the beloved WUP program, we bring you: Plugin Alliance Update Program and Effects Renewal, or PAUPER

So what? It's not as if the PA plugins were so unique that you couldn't find a suitable replacement elsewhere. I doubt we'll see all manufacturers go subscription anytime soon. Most have a portfolio too small to justify subscriptions.

It's a family business, I need your support!
I'm looking for 80's 'Razzle' and 'Knave', erm...for a friend :scared:

I'll second that prediction. They'll ditch the subscription model by 2020, promising us the deal of not just our lifetime, but our afterlife as well.

Bummer about Lion, tis true. Aw well, enuff synths in the old barn anyhow. I'm Massively occupied as it is.

Waves have taken an approach I much prefer offering an almost constant 80-90% off with products reduced from 259 bucks to 29 bucks. I have bought a bunch of these like H Reverb that I would never have bought normally, so they got 29 more bucks than they would have done! Most of us have soooo many mixing tools and fx with our DAWs, NI Komplete, soundtoys or whatever that the market for these single often niche products must be quite small?
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

25 bucks a month is a little high imo. Quite frankly, there isn't anything there that warrants this over Slate. Some people will disagree, but that is fine.
