Setting up NI Expansion packs in Cubase 10

Was not a huge fan of getting a ton of NI expansion packs with the latest Komplete upgrade, but I do appreciate all the extra presets, etc.

Presets aside, each pack comes with a collection of samples in subfolders (percussion, drums, pads, FX etc.) It now occurs to me that I could get maximum benefit from these if I can get Cubase to recognize these folders in the "media" panel. Just drag 'n' drop 'em into a project, make the file elastic, and I'm good to go.

Currently, I can access the NI packs in the media panel only by going to my hard drive file tree in that panel and then picking out the right file. But by default, Cubase recognizes a ton of sample packs (which I assume came with Cubase) identified with glossy covers for easy selection, and without having to go to the file tree.

Is there a way to set up the NI packs so that Cubase recognizes them in the default column?

Thanks for the help.

Cheers

How did you get hold of a copy of Cubase 10.5?

Yeah..exactly.

I don't think there's a straightforward way to do this. I believe you can add the samples to your media library by getting it to scan the folders but you can't get them to appear in the media panel with cover art.

My bad. Mental mashup of Cubase 9.5 and 10, both of which have icons on my desktop.
Fixed the thread title.
[bet it will be bangin' though...]

I don't recall a protocol to add folders to a list like there is in the Plugin Manager. Will check again. Is there a dedicated scanning feature? Missed that too, if so.

Thanks

I think it's in the media bay. I'm fairly sure you can add folders to scan to it.

Right. Makes sense.
I'll check it out.
Thanks!
