Thanks guys. I just put 18 compressors on my kick drum track. Finally it sounds natural!

If you own a large number, compressing them using a lossless compression method can make the things more manageable. You will end up with maybe half the number of compressors, and your music will still sound the same. You can compress your compressors even further using a lossy algorithm, maybe to 1/10th the number, but quality will increasingly suffer.
