Reaktor Blocks vs. Softube Modular

It always amazes me again how much discussion these this vs. that threads are creating.

The answer is so simple: Decide for yourself. Unfortunately, the times seem to be less and less prone to help and motivate own decisions. I also notice that on myself. I'm such a lazy "what should i do" guy sometimes that i'm also tempted to have everything spoon fed to me (in hint on that other thread). No offense meant. We're all slaves to these "everything in abundance" times.

Sometimes such thread points us to something we haven't experienced and it leads us to change our opinion when we try again. It happened and still happens to me!

I always believed that Reaktor is better than other solutions, but in the end I found Softube is better for me. I have just purchased Heartbeat and yesterday I purchased a cheap bundle contains TSAR 1R reverb. They are few modules but with high quality. I like this direction more than gazillion modules that makes me loose concentration, but that's me now vs me before (preferred the many options)

I have both and love both of them.

If I had to choose I would go with reaktor first. The included blocks are really good, add to these the Euro Reakt suite by Michael Hetrick and you could spend half life just with that. And this is just the tip of the iceberg in Reaktor world.

ITOH Softube Modular may be more recomendable if you are just starting with modular stuff, and if you are specially interested in eurorack SM is the closest thing in software. Personally I can´t wait to see how it develops in the future and what new modules it will bring. Amazing times!

I just recently got into Reaktor blocks . About to start learning Core. Are you saying Softtube modular is easier to use?

Softube doesn't even has low level modules like reaktor core
So yes , it's much easier , just like reaktor blocks

Don't discount VCV Rack either - it's a really good representation of real hardware, and best of all it's free

Soundwise I'd say Modular, not that Blocks doesn't sound good, it does, but Modular sounds even better imho. CPU-wise definitely Blocks. If your computer is slightly older like mine, you'll run into CPU limitations pretty fast.
