I don’t really know how to feel about this one.
I tried it out and was quite surprised at how good it sounds. Each component sounds really good.
Problem is I am really trying to not buy too much stuff at the moment - doing so has worked out well for me. I have just been relying on the DMG stuff and for transients I have sonnox, spiff and a bunch of others.
Also have the softube harmonics which is great for transient heavy material.
Point is, I have a ton of stuff!! But man that is tempting at that price.
Has anyone else with loads of plugs also bought this and not regretted it?
I tried it out on a few tracks and loved what it did - mostly on drums. I was able to get a ton of punch and saturation whilst effortlessly shaping the transients just how I wanted them.
But of course - with the sonnox, dmg, fabfilter etc etc etc, I can do similar things.
I suppose I didn’t give it enough of an A/B to work out if the results would actually be better with punish.
Still, I would say to someone who doesn’t have a ton of these type of plugs - this is a great option. Sounds very good for an all in one type plug. The compression models sound different from one another as do the distortion.
Also the transient designer is very flexible. It has a hold and sustain feature which works great for drums.
Cheers

Now that I am on Cubase, I am very tempted to give this another shot.

Heavyocity need to sort out their demo rules. I tried this out at least 6 months ago on my old computer, with my old set-up, and it wouldn't work at all in Orion. So last week I installed it on my new computer, thinking I would be able to demo it in Cubase, but no such luck. iLok tells me I have used all my licenses and won't let me demo it again. If I was trying to license it to the same computer again, maybe that would be reasonable but it's a whole different machine so you'd think they'd show you a bit of courtesy. It's almost tile they don't want me to try their product.
