The instructions regarding installing an expansion, that we get by e-mail, could be a lot more clear.
It seems that you have to drag and drop the content file and the keyfile over the content browser, but that was not mentioned anywhere.

Or you can open VMAN in Avenger to download all the activated expansions, as well as download the updated keyfile. Pretty straight forward to me, without having to read anything.Stefken wrote: Mon Jul 29, 2019 4:37 pm The instructions regarding installing an expansion, that we get by e-mail, could be a lot more clear.

here is an installation video:
please loginto your account at https://register.vps-avenger.com/ for the first Account creation (and if it doesnt work within the plugin)
its the same page in the end
there you can activate your Avenger with your purchased license key and then download it (WIN or OSX) as well as the CONTENT
the content file does not need to be opened, it just has to be imported, when the plugin is opened the first time in the import dialog
(later you can simply drag and drop content files or expansion pack files directly into Avengers open GUI)
the keyfile will also be requested the first time you open Avenger (and if you install a new expansion pack)
eiter activate via the "VMAN" Button inside the plugin, or go again into your account at https://register.vps-avenger.com/
and enter your "SYSTEM ID" in the correct field there, to get a valid keyfile.
This keyfile is a small file, you can download to anywhere on your computer. When Avenger asks for it, just show it to Avenger

not sure if this is a known issue, and I have one other plugin that does it, but on the mac (10.14.5) I can't log on to my account from the plugin. It tells me usernamepassword or something like that is incorrect.
It does it fine on my Windows 10 computer though.

Thanks for the support. I figured it out by now.
It would be handy to include the proper install info in the e-mail that is sent to the customer.
I also like to report a few inconsistencies.
Installing Avenger
* A keyfile was mentioned but I didn't need one. Avenger activated itself when I logged in into my account. Have your license procedures changed recently?
So, NO keyfile needed to install Avenger.
* Avenger asks actively for the location of the content file.
Installing an expansion: quite the opposite
* Here a keyfile WAS in fact needed, but no mention how to import it. (I first copied it to the directory where the dll is (that's a common procedure) but that didn't work. Once I knew the content file had to be dropped on the gui, dropping the keyfile as well was an obvious conclusion.
* Avenger didn't ask for a content file for the expansion. Once you had downloaded the content file, you had no idea what to do with it.
> I guess if you mention in the e-mail that the content file and key file have to be dropped on the GUI, that will make things a lot clearer. Or simply point them to the "VMAN" button. That seems to be the easiest way.
On the positive side:
Avenger is a great synth and imo easy to use. You can really see it's made by a musician.

Totally agree with you, but i think too it is a lot of work to made it. Avenger is a top synth, very unique, i can understand why their price is so high even if i wish a lowest price.HcDoom wrote: Mon Jul 29, 2019 6:54 pm Why are xps so expensive? You buy two and they cost like a solid competition synth? :/

Which one, 1 or 2?

1 has big sounds, and 2 even bigger
Actually, I don't know yet, I'm still deciding what expansions to pick. So far I have picked 11, and have marked 4 "yes" and 7 "maybe", having 13 more to go through
The demo for BigTone 2 sounded nice, it's a "maybe" so far for me.

Sub to the youtube channel, you'll get to hear the new packs and see which is the latest via the demo upload. I believe the expansions are in order of release on the main webpage too.

Bought it earlier today, it has crashed at least four times already in Cubase 10, 10.14.5.
Have sent crash logs to support.
Anyone else having crashing issues with 1.4.10?

but my question was intended by the new headline which says "summer sale -20% and new XP" so I would be able to look forward to it, but it was "just" the Trance Invasion which I listened to the last day in the "to buy or not to buy(Avenger)"-process

Do you have Acronis True Image service? The anti-ransom resident? If yes. Then add Cubase or the whole Cubase folder to be on the safe side , to the "exclusion list"...Worked for me as this crashes Cubase 10 when you load Avenger or slow it down considerably (like 5 minutes loading)zvenx wrote: Mon Jul 29, 2019 8:59 pm Bought it earlier today, it has crashed at least four times already in Cubase 10, 10.14.5.
