Good VST alternatives to Riffer, Midi Madness 3 or Reason's QNG?

I'm looking for a MIDI effect, that can randomly generate melodies (NOT chord progressions, i.e. Scaler, InstaChord, Captain Chords!) according to set key & scale, with controllable note length, velocity, density, overlaps (legato). Ideally it should also receive MIDI, to transpose the generated sequences on the fly.

Something like Quad Note Generator for Reason, but in VST format:

I picked up SeqCollection2 from HY at the weekend - I'm still exploring, but it has a shed-load of randomising features, six, yes 6, sequencing engines, including a really cool 4 channel Euclid sequencer. It has a transpose midi-fx which is controllable via keys. Might be worth your while to check it out - it's also on sale

QNG is pretty brilliant and i wish they would make a VST version.

Have you tried Midi Madness 3?
