So basically you're just here to troll.whyterabbyt wrote: Thu Aug 01, 2019 1:53 pm wouldnt know, i dont own or use either of them. did you just make a very stupid assumption?
Point proven, only here to troll.whyterabbyt wrote: Thu Aug 01, 2019 1:53 pm you're right, nothing under 'cheapest replacement power supply for a Buchla' either. goshdarn you're good at this.

Ah, yes, of course. Your complete inability to deliver a meaningful assertion with any cogent grounding in logic or facts is some sort of legitimate comment, but any response is 'fanboys' or 'trolling'. How amazingly convenient for you.Reefius wrote: Thu Aug 01, 2019 1:59 pmSo basically you're just here to troll.whyterabbyt wrote: Thu Aug 01, 2019 1:53 pm wouldnt know, i dont own or use either of them. did you just make a very stupid assumption?
When you can prove that any generic search for anything to do with any aspect of music production gives any insight into the potential userbase of a specific audio tool, come on back to me about who's the one trolling.

Seriously? The Grid has been out for about 5 minutes!Reefius wrote: Thu Aug 01, 2019 1:23 pm Even when specifically searching for Bitwig content, it's hard to find anything about the more uncommon Grid modules. I'm talking about stuff like the Math and Logic modules.
I am kind of glad that when I learnt guitar/keys/music 30 years ago there was no internet, some how everyone seemed happier and more productive!
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

how ironic.Reefius wrote:"It's of course much easier to shout 'troll' when you can't win an argument."

If you need math & logic modules explained to you, then you probably shouldn't touch modular systems...Reefius wrote: Thu Aug 01, 2019 1:23 pmEven when specifically searching for Bitwig content, it's hard to find anything about the more uncommon Grid modules. Also, there's INTERACTIVE help for everything in the Grid, if you dare trying anyway:
If you want, there's already a paid course already available:

And free - not less comprehensive - tutorials for The Grid are slowly popping up:

Having just been released, it seems rather unlikely for there to be much if any 3rd party info about those modules. The best info is the impressive Grid help system. That plus the built-in scopes in the inspector plus the capacity to put a scope on any signal and it is pretty easy to figure out what those modules do.Reefius wrote: Thu Aug 01, 2019 1:23 pmEven when specifically searching for Bitwig content, it's hard to find anything about the more uncommon Grid modules. A meaningful explanation in the manual would be a good start, instead of those oneliners for each Grid module.
Some things in the Grid just don't make any sense. How come a step sequencer module doesn't even have a gate output for triggering an envelope?
To me it just looks like an overengineered mess, compared to for example VCVrack and Voltage Modular.

Key word being "to me"Reefius wrote: Thu Aug 01, 2019 2:26 pmTo me it just looks like an overengineered mess, compared to for example VCVrack and Voltage Modular.
Perhaps see the episodes #23/24 here:
https://ask.video/video/bitwig-studio-3 ... components
The Grid simply tries to decompose the more traditional fixed-function Eurorack modules into components, so that they can be used for more than one purpose. If you stop for a second in your anger and think about what constitutes a sequencer, you'll quickly understand what you need to use

Instead I often see horde of FL haters attacks ppl in the thread and end up making thread over 20 pagesReefius wrote: Thu Aug 01, 2019 1:43 pm Why is it that Bitwig and FL Studio both have a horde of fanboys who attack everyone who dares to say anything negative about their favorite DAW?

I want to try the latest with Ubuntu Studio (now tell me how many famous "producers" have tried that!? Only Cardi B? That's enough for me then bitch!).
I think Diva and RePro can also be run in Linux. It would be great to have such setup just in case Trump becomes a dictator and prevent the world from using Microsoft and Apple products

and any signal can trigger an Envelope. It doesn't need to have a gate output.

Yes there is: And it doesn't properly trigger an envelope generator, you need an additional Gates module to do that.
I've been experimenting yesterday and I'm starting to see the point of the decomposed modules, it gives you greater flexibility. It looks like some of the basic synth building modules have been simplified (like an envelope generator does not need a separate amp), while the more complex stuff got even more complex

That's not a step sequencer in a sense that it generates musical notes, with gates, pitches, velocity, etc. It generates bi- or unipolar values. You CAN use the output as pitches or velocity, but you'll have to provide dates from elsewhere and there's a whole group of modules for that.
EDIT: I see you edited your post when I was writing mine. Good you finally see this.
