ok.
Just tried it.
Latency is big. Pitch tracking poor - i plugged my gitar to it and the result was like an alien talk.
I didn't see any synth controlers.
Maybe i can't use it correctly...

We are not trying to recreate the input it is given.
But we use the input as a means to control the instrument. Please feel free to try out different input sources and explore what types of sounds/gestures work well and what don't.
The goal of our project is aimed at the general public. Not technical people or musicians. We felt knobs would be too confusing and intimating. The instrument reponds best to the human voice. With just a microphone, one can get quite a wide range of sounds from it.
Additiionally, there is a neural net that analyzes the input and uses this to control the evolution of the instrument sounds. This net also stores its state
on the server when a player leaves, and is loaded the next time a new person joins.
Latency varies depending on your connection and your location in the world.

Didn`t get to working out the details...but jamming over the net is possible by sending midi between conferenced computers.
Also w/midioverlan and the like.

Jamming over the web can be done with a number of different tools.annode wrote:Didn`t get to working out the details...but jamming over the net is possible by sending midi between conferenced computers.

We are trying to bring playing together on the web to the general public. Not just musicians or techie folks. With Auracle you don't need a music program. Just a mac or a pc with a web browser. And we believe that the voice is the easiest abd most accessible interface for controlling an instrument.
PS. I saw the Stockhausen thread. Auracle will also have its official inaugration at the same music festival in Donaueschingen. Auracle will be broadcasted live over the German Radio station on
Friday Oct 15th and 9PM CEST.
