Hey kids,

Yep you guessed it, the master of impulse buying is looking for new toy/s to get. You may have noticd me around here asking quetions about various stuff including Ableton Live, podium, Sonicbytes stuff and others.

Sadly i have comne to conclusion that Live is simply too big a cost for me at the moment. Even if i could get educational discount (which looks less likely by the day) £150 is a large amount for a final year student with a hefty overdraft and little extra income.

So anyways, before you guys all cyber beat the shit out of me for asking an irritatingly open question, here are a few thoughts i had:

* EST/Gat'r, great fun and live possibilities in combination with EnergyXT could be great
* Tracktion, cos the audio handling is easy and makes loop work a piece of piss it seems
* Podium, very elegant design and with some time/developemnt in the future could be a great host. I have many hosts, but one more is fine :)

Beyond these i am open to suggestions. I know it sounds very vague, but i just want a nice new toy. Oh, and not just another VA synth or crap like that, something a bit different would be good :D

why can't you just be a normal student and buy some weed and half a pint of bitter?

Wasn't it you who was talking a couple of weeks ago about getting his student loan money and promising not to waste it in the first month????

Buy Reason. I just have and it's great fun.

[note to all]I AM NOT TRYING TO START A "REASONS BETTER THAN BLAH BLAH BLAH" THREAD[/note to all]

Or, simply go and piss it up the wall in the Western Front next to Churchill Square :D

I love the western front actually, one of the better town centre pubs i'd say. At least its not f**king wetherspoons, full of chav twats and women that look like mutya from the sugarbabes :scared:

Pissing it up the wall, why didn't i think of that :hihi:

Or even better, any of the pubs in the North Laine area - used to go to those regularly when I worked in Foundry Street.

hmmm. might have to jack in work for the day soon and go for a pint :)

Yeah? You registered? My other thread about podium got a lot of responses from people who quickly tried then dismissed it becasue of the hierarchical interface. I see this as its strong card.

Might take getting used to, but could be great. The audio handling seems a bit lacking at the moment, but development is pretty active i think.

P_Soft's Void modular thingy looks and sounds a lot of fun. I think being a student you can get an academic licence (50% off - should bring it down to £75).
