The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

An old young colleague came to work one day, pale and looking shocked. She told us that the whole time on her train, there was man in “hooker boots” with no pants on and a tape measure in one hand. The man was measuring himself the whole train ride.
New York subways are always educational.

A single dark-pigmented individual does one thing and to disagree with that one thing (its intent) means you've sought to deliberately diminish, what, the whole group of similarly-pigmented individuals? That doesn't work as reasoned, it's just stupid. You're looking for a fight, that's perfectly clear. Some hill to die on.
I would argue that being overly litigious is by definition a product of civilization, but wags was basically saying 'uncool'. If everybody was that litigious the world would clearly be a worse place.

Actually. He didn't diminish any "dark pigmented individual". He stated country music artists are civilized people and not looking to make a quick buck... you can take what you want from that in context of the debate and the rest of his statement.jancivil wrote: Mon Aug 05, 2019 5:39 pm A single dark-pigmented individual does one thing and to disagree with that one thing (its intent) means you've sought to deliberately diminish, what, the whole group of similarly-pigmented individuals? I know what his statement communicated to me. You are free to interpret it differently.

Who could forget the time he took a roll of duct tape and some crimping pliers, and totally rebuilt Peter's 1967 Shelby GT500.
