i know he didn't enjoy much of the xtian rock stuff.
When it comes to music, the designator "Christian" is synonymous with "shitty"
Probably true but the guy was up for a Grammy and certainly had every right to his day in court.

The problem with this thread is that no one knows Flame but too many are convinced that he is a low life with bad intentions... why is that? People don't like the genre? Think the song sucks? Think the riff is rudimentary and worthless? Maybe it is because he is black? What ever it is, no one here has the moral authority to judge him as a terrible person or remove his opportunity in court or shame him for his actions which were perfectly legal...

The dirty old Yorkshire bastard.
"I like that Katy Perry - she's a good singer. Firework - that was a good record, that. She's nice, her." :hihi:
Perhaps Katy would like to bat in England's middle order. Can't do any worse than some of these clowns. :x
Put her on a horse and have her play Polo with Prince Charles and Stewart Copeland.

As a practical matter, how would any songwriter/producer/musician do the equivalent of a patent search on copyrighted material every time they release a song? Even comparing against those that are popular in a particular genre and have a few million YouTube views or streams - there are thousands of those songs, I suspect, not to mention millions of more obscure ones. Coincidence is bound to happen, especially in genres that are more limited in musical range. And we're already litigating on an assumption that one artist "should have been aware" of another's work, which is a dangerous;y subjective assumption to base a case on.

It may be that we get to the point where publishing groups / performance rights organizations will use musical content matching AI (similar to what streaming services use), and will flag close matches, and artists belonging to those groups will contract not to sue for songs that are cleared; those publishing groups can then pool resources to fight against outside influences.

A working solution with potentially terrible side effects for musicians.

This is similar to the case now in the US where the number of federal, state, and local regulations make virtually everyone a criminal. Ignorance of the law being no execute, but no individual can in practice be aware of all the laws. Nor listen to all the musics!

If I could musically actually follow the case? Who the f**k are you exactly?

do, re, me ,fa.. f**king idiot.
You are out of line.

It's one thing to be in the wrong (which you are) and still want to argue your case. It's another thing to devolve to insults because you don't like someone's take.

Whether you are looking for a ban or not, you should take a break and reconsider your choices.
