I start hearing it at 17.5khz.

DT 990 Pro. Interesting that I hear about the same on my $300 desktop monitors, I thought I'd lose at least 500hz on the monitors for some reason.

Explains why I'm not very good at hearing the 20khz cut I put on my 2-bus

BTW, here's another version of the test:

Sorry?

im very high and i can still hear :)

I don't hear it until 12,896Hz, but then I'm in my 50s, so I shouldn't expect to hear really high frequencies so easily.

That almost puts me at 'Better than average', so I'll take that result.

It's not just a question of frequency, it's also a question of volume. Because of my tinnitus I can't hear anything above around 4khz without whacking up the volume.

I could still hear when in the Himalayas and on planes...
So, I'm good.

Which will make the tinnitus even worse next round...

Post

I don't dare to test... i'm afraid i already have a cut at about 13 kHz or so.

BTW, you should always write how old you are, because it's essential for the result.

I was just up on my roof thinking the same thing, so then I thought "how many khz high am I" so I ran down the ladder and got my multimeter. I also was up there to get leaves out of my gutter and forgot my cullender to put them in (it's easier that way, there aren't many and the water drains out making the bag lighter). I went to climb up the ladder but had no way to carry the cullender so I put it upside down on my head and then proceeded up the ladder. Once I got up there I turned on the meter, held the electrodes up in the air so the meter was hanging in front of my face and to get a better signal (because nothing was happening) I started slowly turning in circles. Damnedest thing I ever did see, suddenly I notice not only are my neighbors outside looking at me but cars stopped and people were taking pics with their phones
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

:tu:
Now that is a lot of Khz high... ;)

I was gonna make some lame joke about Khz... or how many Kilo's Heinz weighs, in my OP...

I'm never good with tests... got just over 11,000... 65 years. But I did hear the click around 15/16,000 ;)

I'm older than the my hearing suggests. I've pretty much avoided loud environments. Never really enjoyed live performances as much as everyone else does so I've attended very few concerts. Never really got into clubs as a youngster, few bars as an adult, listen to music, play and mix at a comfortable lowish level.

In essence I've spent my life being a boring party pooper, and my payment is a couple Khz higher hearing than I should have.

I had never really thought about this before reading this thread.

There is a test from 20 to 20k here

Surprisingly I can hear at 22-23 Hz, but i drop out at around 13k

My tinnitus is often an 'A' note, and going on my upper limit is that puts it at 7040.

In hearing test I can hear near 20khz but those online thingys only give me around 15khz max..
