How high (khz) can you hear?

Up to about 16.2kHz, I hear just fine. Above that, I still notice (especially pausing and unpausing) but it's like a different kind of hearing-related sensation, almost migraine-ish -- and it's the same all the way up to at least 20kHz. I'm 49.
Also always keep in mind this is a test of your sound reproduction equipment as well as your ears.

That's a good point. I might get a different result on other equipment (I was using the speakers on my MacBook). Also, it might not take into account the delay between hearing it and clicking, so the results may be biased slightly low for people with slower reactions.foosnark wrote:Also always keep in mind this is a test of your sound reproduction equipment as well as your ears.

3/4 years ago I took my old mum to have her hearing aids adjusted.
The room was proper acoustic room and I asked the dr if I could have a go, sa one would...
then I tested good to about 13,750 ( my ears are not the same ),. when I tried this on my computer with the oscillator in the sound card or various plugin oscillators the results were very different.
Also.. try sweeping an osc in your daw... mine would go high then drop in frequency (maybe aroud 10/13K, I can't remember ) then go silent.
and what monitors?

I'm 36, so I guess it's not that bad for my age.. 12K is not that bad right, band limited.Forgotten wrote: Sat Aug 03, 2019 5:56 pm I don't hear it until 12,896Hz, but then I'm in my 50s, so I shouldn't expect to hear really high frequencies so easily.
