Some of my favorite more recent albums, in no particular order:

Download - The Eyes of Stanley Pain
The first Download album I've ever heard, and still my favorite. The members during this era had a sound like no other.

Skinny Puppy - The Greater Wrong of the Right
Their new album, and a very brilliant album at that. Highly recommended!

Scorn - Ellipsis
My alltime favorite Scorn album. The opening track is my fav...

Phil Western / Tim Hill - Dark Features
Great psychedelia to get lost in...the atmospheres are beutifull.

The Tear Garden - Tired Eyes Slowly Burning
The more I listen to it the more I like it. Tear Garden's best in my opinion.

Ohgr - Sunnypsyop
Incredible solo album from Ogre of Skinny Puppy. Has an very '80's retro' sound at times. Very addictive stuff.

cEvin key - The Dragon Experience
Highly recommended for fans of 'Bites' era SP. Key's solo stuff is amazing, but this album in particular has a remeniscient quality that many would appreciate.

Collossus is good, but somehow, the 1st & 3rd LP's blow it away..especially the first album, whihc has Justin from Godflesh on guitar..

Uh-oh. I sense that this is a thread that's going to be 90% full of albums that I won't even be able to buy at a local record store. I'm sure they're all great albums, but I'd like to see some suggestions that are more 'accessible'.

Since I don't think they're supposed to be only electronica, let me suggest:

- Wilco, "Being There", because it covers a range of real everyday emotions, and does it in a unique way. Alt-country but not as a gimmick.

- Norah Jones, "Feels Like Home" because it shows what a few people who know how to play without over-playing can do to showcase each element... instruments, vocals, lyrics... without detracting from the most important thing which is "the song".
