the system i have you can read under my post. its fast. but as i told it is not only boot time it is also program and song load time. seem you not know which great pleasure it is to be able when not work anymore on your song, suspend the computer, and do something other. and 1 hour later or after eating can resume and all is open. i use standby to ram feature since 10 years i guess. since win 10 btw shutdown does suspend to ram too, so it can boot faster. but wy wait for something, when suspend to ram work ?. what problem i should get with wifi driver ?. when i do resume internet always work. I need not reconnect or something. I have a very old wlan USB stick from netgear WNA 1100 N150.chk071 wrote: Thu Aug 15, 2019 4:32 pmNo... especially wi-fi driver issues are something you might run into, when you always suspend to RAM. Believe me, it's not good. Rather reboot, at least from time to time.magicmusic wrote: Thu Aug 15, 2019 2:54 pm when i notice strange problems, or slowdown i reboot. but because i get no problems i do suspend to ram mostly until windows update want reboot. if you get problems with suspend to ram it is because you use elicencer.
Do a full reboot though. When you boot down the computer, Windows 10 stores some of its state on the hard drive, so that it can boot up faster the next time. Even that causes the one or the other problem. The only way to make sure to really reboot properly is using the reboot entry from the start menu.
BTW, how old is your computer when you have issues with boot time? Mine is booted in a matter of seconds... even a reboot won't take long.

How about the xils way of letting users choose between ilok and elicenser? Personally, I'd be happy to go along with ilok, just not with elicenser. And as you say ilok costs more, I'll even accept an extra $10 on top of the price.msvs wrote: Thu Aug 15, 2019 11:24 amyes, there areseriously, are there people buying at this price
if you had one, you would know how much there is inside such an XP, and how much work went into this. Furthermore there are additional taxes, license splits, traffic costs, suppoert etc. Selling them for 10€ would mean we pay on top for every sale![]()
like I wrote earlier, we currently look into this possibility. If everything suits for us, I would be happy to go with CodeMeterthe codemeter software is ok.
in reason you can activate a license and stay offline.
and from ver 5 it didnt cracked.
i hope vengeance will implement that and

If you have no problem, then all is cool. Just saying that i had several issues related to sleep mode on computers. From wi-fi not working to keyboards which didn't respond. I even restart my phone from times to times, because i know that it is a hoards of issues to keep computers running the whole time.magicmusic wrote: Thu Aug 15, 2019 4:50 pm the system i have you can read under my post. its fast. but as i told it is not only boot time it is also program and song load time. seem you not know which great pleasure it is to be able when not work anymore on your song, suspend the computer, and do something other. and 1 hour later or after eating can resume and all is open. i use standby to ram feature since 10 years i guess. since win 10 btw shutdown does suspend to ram too, so it can boot faster. but wy wait for something, when suspend to ram work ?. what problem i should get with wifi driver ?. when i do resume internet always work. The first thing people recommend in a Windows 10 forum that i frequent, with all sorts of weird issues, is to do a full reboot. Always funny that about 50% of the issues disappear automagically then.
Again, if there's no issue, keep doing what you're doing. Just felt to point it out anyway, because, the issue you have with eLicenser is caused by the sleep mode (of course it isn't caused by it, but by eLicenser, which can't cope with it. The result is the same, though).

Some people compare fabfilter with Avenger in terms of sw protection and licensing. I think you can't compare them as the target customers do overlap partially only. I use both. However, fabfilter might have a larger market potential. Avenger is used at some genre during production only, but fabilter is used over all genres and from recording up to mastering.
eLicenser is fine with me as well. I use the dongle at a USB server within my network and connect with 2 computers (not possible at the same time of course). This way, I turn the dongle into a floating network license. It works very well and I don't have any issues with it. Also registering new keys at the dongle works fine over the network. I used it over the internet as well. I experienced slower startup times only at the internet scenarios.
btw. I also suspend my laptop over weeks (no reboots) without any issues so far...

the problem is elicencer. so they should fix elicenser. without that i have no problems. of course i check if the RAM used is not too much from time to time(taskmanager show this). some programs eat memory, or if something work strange i reboot. but if my system work good and crackle free(which is mostly) wy i should reboot. luckyly elicenser is only used from steinberg. and my cubase ai work with software elicenser. software elicenser work good with standby. I have ilok always plug in a USB Hub with a mechanical switch. when i add a ilok protect instrument and disable later the ilok with the switch the instrument continue to work. i can go to standby and resume with ilok switch off and it continue to work. only when i add another instance of this instrument with ilok switch off computer hang for 5 sec then show a requester(which is often behind plugin window, but can see in task bar and click on it to activate) that there is no ilok. then i can switch on ilok and it continue to workchk071 wrote: Thu Aug 15, 2019 5:00 pm

Steinberg never fixed that you have to re-install the Yamaha USB driver every time one of the big Windows 10 updates were installed, or the issue with the soft eLicenser, which needed to be repaired 2 times here after the big updates, so, i wouldn't hold my breath.
Even though those issues won't be an issue anymore in the future, as Microsoft, as i read it, plans to get rid of the big updates, and just do cumulative updates.
So, no more complete OS new installs every half year...

I can't use dongles on my Mac Book Pro due to physical ports. my MBP only has 2 Thunderbolt ports which I use both for external HD and for UAD Arrow interface.
iLok or eLicencer protection to local machine works fine but not all my plugins allow for local protection.
if I have to use a thunderbolt to usb hub device to plugin a USB dongle I lose the use of thunderbolt port and either external HD or my interface cannot be plugged in.
I will not sacrifice the mobility of a $2500 mac for a $200 VST.
on my PC Windows Desktop I have no issue with either iLok or eLicencer.
If I am only going to be able to use Avenger 2.0 on my PC desktop with physical dongle protection then I'll pay for upgrade but it will seriously limit my use and I will not be buying expansions.
I already use my Nexus 2 license less and less because of this same situation.
Piracy sucks, it really hurts the paying customer more

I think what hurts paying customers the most is developers overreacting to piracy.

Is this true? the elicencer manuel intends to use locks everything up once it goes into sleep mode?

You have no idea whether they are overreacting or not.Puddi wrote: Thu Aug 15, 2019 7:29 pmI think what hurts paying customers the most is developers overreacting to piracy.
