Judging from the presets I’m pretty sure it’s still worthwhile. Would have loved that low cut though. And I believe some new insights may have arisen in those seven years, similar to the way Vintage Verb has been expanded and added to.
In my view, backward compatibility should not hinder evolution.

You have the right to that opinion, but breaking seven years worth of backwards compatibility is something I bet most would vote against.Fleer wrote: ↑Sun Aug 18, 2019 12:53 pm Judging from the presets I’m pretty sure it’s still worthwhile. Valhalla Room HAS had at least five new reverb algorithms AND a new GUI scheme added, since it was first released.
Do you want it to paint your house as well?

Valhalla Room WAS updated years ago, as far as reverb algorithms are concerned BUT no new ones were added ever since.
Valhalla Vintage Verb has been updated continuously with new additions.
That low cut for Valhalla Room is a serious request, and no backward compatibility should keep us from it.
When the new GUI was added to Valhalla Room, users could fall back to the original version. That’s what I’d like to happen with regard to new algorithms. Keep the old version available.
On with the new. Meanwhile, mowing my lawn would be nice.

I could be wrong but I recall Sean saying that he didn't anticipate adding a bunch of additional modes to room and ended up filling up all the slots. Whereas by the time he got to VVV, he had learned and added more slots for new modes that he ever thought he'd need as a means of future proofing.

ValhallaVintageVerb is a postmodern reverb plugin, inspired by the classic hardware digital reverbs of the 1970s and 1980s.
17 reverb algorithms:
- Concert Hall
- Bright Hall
- Plate
- Room
- Chamber
- Random Space
- Chorus Space
- Ambience
- Sanctuary (new in version 1.0.1)
- Dirty Hall (new in version 1.5.0)
- Dirty Plate (new in version 1.5.0)
- Smooth Plate (new in version 1.5.0)
- Smooth Room (new in version 1.5.0)
- Smooth Random (new in version 1.5.0
- Nonlin (new in version 1.5.0)
- Chaotic Hall (new in version 1.7.1)
- Chaotic Chamber (new in version 1.7.1)
3 color modes for dialing in the tone color and sonic artifacts of a specific reverb era:
- 1970s. Dark (bandlimited), with lossy & noisy interpolation artifacts.
- 1980s. Brighter than 1970s mode, but with similar lossy & noisy interpolation artifacts.
- NOW. Bright, clean, and shiny.
ValhallaVintageVerb works for OSX and Windows, and is available in 32/64-bit VST, 32/64-bit AU, 32-bit RTAS, and 64-bit AAX formats.
$50. Available now to demo and purchase at

I sold my VRoom ages ago too; it sounds great for sure but for my stuff, VVV just fits a lot better, found myself never using VRoom after getting VVV.el-bo (formerly ebow) wrote: ↑Sun Aug 18, 2019 12:38 pmIt's been a while since I sold my copy of 'Room', but is there anything specific you think it's missing. More than that. do you feel that VVV is not worth the extra investment?
With regards to updates to VRoom, I think it's established that it's a product of it's times and not easily updatable as later plugs, whether Sean wants to release a v2 is... his business plan.

Absolutely love Chaotic Neutral in VVV. Great job. Now if we can just get rid of that white/black UI for the NOW mode. Like how each mode in VD has a cool color... COLOR!! LOL

Yesterday we got two new SuperMassive modes, today we get a new ValhallaVintageVerb mode! Huge thanks!seancostello wrote:We’ve just updated Valhalla VintageVerb™ to version 2.2.0. New in this update: Cathedral Mode!
The Cathedral algorithm is an updated and expanded version of a reverb I originally developed in 2014 for the Spin Semiconductor FV-1. The VintageVerb version can use a lot more delay memory than the FV-1 version (with higher Size settings), that results in a very clear and open reverb decay. We’ve also expanded the filtering of the Cathedral algorithm, for a more realistic decay, while retaining the balanced ensemble modulation of the FV-1 original.
The 2.2.0 update is available to anyone that owns VintageVerb - just go to the My Account page and grab the latest installers. Don’t own VintageVerb yet? Check out the demo version on our Demos and Downloads page!
We hope you enjoy the VintageVerb update, and thanks for your support!

Ooooohhhhhh.... gotta love a developer who not only makes some of the best plugins around at an amazing price, but continues to improve it years after release! Can't wait to try this update after work!

Wow! This is really amazing, supporting these plugins for so long. I just got it like maybe a year ago, but it's not missing from any of my projects. Seeing this kind of devotement makes me wanna buy another plugin from Valhalla.
