So anyway I tidied up my desktop cos I was bored and got a pic from The Ring(DVD lab is the bestest little dvd authoring prog out there... and cheapest) and it's back to how i like it, uncluttered and dark.

I know some people like to have all their shortcuts up and some make little patterns with them (The music store guy made a spiral :D ) Thought it would be a small insight into eachothers personalities (as if music doesn't do that enoughly :hihi: )

I too, like the uncluttered and dark look. In fact, I think my desktop should be the default Windows desktop. Here's a screenshot of it:

Note: This will show up with a scrollbar at the bottom, which ruins the otherwise totally uncluttered effect of the real desktop.

Hrm. Mine is a nice soft teal with no icons and no wallpaper.

Good way to waste ram and cpu etc.... :)

Man comps are so powerful these days there's no real need to be anal about cpu and ram...
I have no problems at the moment and I'm still in the ice ages (2100xp 256Meg ram).

When you're working big sessions with low latencies, every little bit counts...

and I hate the slight sluggishness that comes when minimizing apps, or resizing things etc... Just becuse you have the power doesnt mean you should abuse it :-P

hahhahhahaa. this gave me a nice good laugh in the morning. it's gonna be a good day. :D

It's just that we have ergonomically thinkin come forward about 10 years. And yes, even 1.5ghz is good enough to handle these modern windows visual styles, even in the most audio app intensive computers. I've done pretty extensive testing about this thru the years(just turn off the FX). And hey, you've got a Gb of ram? Why not use 2 megs of it to make things look and feel good?

There are some excellent, compact, ergonomic and soothing looking styles out there that are much nicer to use than anything default by windows XP or OSX. :D

You crazy crazy people.
