Does anyone have any info, hint, idea etc., if code from Bootsy's TesslaSE was later used in any other saturation plugin. I have a bunch of saturation plugins, don't need any recomendation.
I am interested strictly in TesslaSE "derivates" (64 bit of course)
Thx!

Maybe, but to me TeslaPRO is a completely different beast, which never really "worked" for me. And it is not 64 bit.
I was thinking more about Herbert's later work - collaborations/products, which could inherit some of the TesslaSE magic.

None as far as I know. I'll make one if you like though. Why not; And I could make saturation mean something different in the same way.

TeslaPRO was a great plugin. It required some gain staging to work properly, you really had to push the needle hard into the red on the VU meter. It had various console and even a tape saturation mode. I really miss it.zabukowski wrote: ↑Sun Aug 25, 2019 5:46 pmMaybe, but to me TeslaPRO is a completely different beast, which never really "worked" for me. And it is not 64 bit.

TeslaSE was more obvious, but really great too. Yes, I also believe TDR VOS Slick EQ (free, Gentleman Edition) is the only 64bit plugin that has Bootsy's stateful saturation implemented. But it's quite subtle, even if you "drive" it hard with the compensate knob.
I hope Tokyo Dawn - Vlad will collaborate with Bootsy again to bring some of his top-notch audio magic into the 64bit era.

Yeah, Bootsy's a genius. I'd probably go the parabolic saturation route and use attack and release (utilizing euler's constant and 64 bit precision decimal accuracy) to normalize mono and wide stereo with a latency to the release so that saturation was not only a dull flat thing; Yet a smooth; seemingly living conception.
Saturation is often a quick bit of code but it'd be thought provoking if it were the combination of extremes and minimalistic. The combination of mediums with a notable contrast so as to bloom and pulsate at an inaudibly resonant thrum would be so interesting.

yeah the new one is super nice - preferring it over many transformer plugins personally. low enough cpu even with oversampling to use on various channels or busses. really good sound
