Nah, people just are not enamored with some of the new decisions. Negative feedback doesn't mean riots :D
Now, if they had done this to Bitwig... :hihi:
Bitwig rack devices with the modular and modulators in any DAW as a VST? Sign me up.

Some of it is reasoned, well thought out and lucidly explained negative feedback, and some of it is ridiculous emotional histrionics. Its the internet.

I just thought it a bit funny that a reason update is positively viewed here, and SO negatively viewed there.

There are many more threads about it over there, but I'm not seeing too many too happy here. Anyways, I'm cool with 10.4, maybe when 11.1 comes out I'll give it a spin.

Oh, that and I have a WHOLE MONTH to decide to change my mind :hihi:

But, that's not how KVR works - you have to make your mind up one way or another RIGHT NOW, or you will be accountable to anonymous people with anger issues on teh interwebs.

Sorry, but that's the law.

Very excited for this release! Anyone know if something like Jamorigin MIDI guitar will work in Reason as a vst plugin now?

Post

Seems like the response by non Reason users are very good. Maybe the separated versions should have been Reason Studio & Reason Plugin, instead of Standard & Suite.

I would be pissed too if reason was my pimarily daw , almost no love or significant updates to the sequencer .
Poor bitmap graphics etc..
Racks vst even has less options then reason rewired , receiving on only one midi channel .
I must be in the minority , but reason as a rewire slave to renoise worked as a charm , just inserting multiple rewire instances in renoise for each reason HW output .
Each instrument/fx could be controlled and automated over midi by renoise , totally circumventing reasons's sequencer .
The only downside was the saving of 2 separate files .
Trying to replicate all this with the rack vst will introduce a huge cpu overhead
Eyeball exchanging
Soul calibrating ..frequencies

Don't agree about about rewire being more powerful than the rack.

The biggest downside with ReWire for me was that I couldn't treat Reason as an effect unit, for example to add Neptune and Alligator to a vocal track in Ableton. It could only handle midi in, audio out like synths.

Interesting.

I'm wondering how stable Reason will be as a plugin.

Can you still use Reason as a slave DAW?

If so, can you have Reason as a slave and as a plugin simultaneously?

No they will ditch rewire.
A is A

Exactly. That always has been the big issue with it.

The other issues with ReWire were:

* Some hosts made it a pain to create stereo ReWire channels (e.g. Cubase)
* You would have to keep track of two different projects for each track
* It was very hard to see what was going in your main DAW, particularly in Cubase, you have MIDI tracks for triggering Reason devices, then have the ReWire channel for audio
* You had to route each instrument to the appropriate output if you wanted the ability to mix all sounds in your DAW

I say good riddance to ReWire (as someone who used it very extensively in the past). My main gripe is that there's no easy way to migrate projects to the plugin.

they went the ableton way. and i think its reasonable. financially MANY customers can jump easier from intro to standard to suite, than just get the whole cake in your face for all the money or nothing. its even more so on sales. i think they will get many new customers that way. all other things like scaling or two card slots or 6k video or selfie stick will come along sooner or later for the wedding tog pros...;D

Sure. :dog:
THE INTRANCER wrote: Tue Aug 27, 2019 8:08 pm and if they wern't bringing down Reason, you would be faced with a cardboard cut out graphic replacement.
You're only shown a cardboard cutout if you don't own an RE and it's not installed, but open a project with it inside.

You'd probably best stick to Studio One threads, Scotty. ;)

Are we reading the same thread here? Seems like people here are much more positive about the release. Elsewhere (on Facebook, Twitter, even YouTube - :o ) people are generally much more excited about 11. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
