No mention of it in the FAQ: https://www.propellerheads.com/de/reason/faq But... i think they either already implemented that, or at least plan to do so. VST3 like VST2 supports different MIDI ins and outs, so, with so many instruments in the rack, it surely makes sense.Cochrane wrote: Wed Aug 28, 2019 5:31 pm A little question about Reason Rack plugin: how many MIDI ports to rack devices does VST3 plugin support? With ReWire I was able to control every single rack device with a dedicated MIDI virtual port from ReWire master, so it would be useful to have same flexibility from the new VST3 plugin.

I see it as about 60-40 with that majority going to being not enthused. That's how I see RT going too (you have to take into account that Reason is not necessarily someones number one, so there are plenty of people who want to use the Reason Rack inside something else)EnochLight wrote: Wed Aug 28, 2019 1:30 pm
Are we reading the same thread here? Seems like people here are much more positive about the release. Elsewhere (on Facebook, Twitter, even YouTube -reggie1979 wrote: Wed Aug 28, 2019 12:21 am There are many more threads about it over there, but I'm not seeing too many too happy here.) people are generally much more excited about 11. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

After propellerheads released Europa vst many people were hoping that other reason devices be released as a vst. Well props listened and are doing as such. I for one am happy with this decision. I feel like next they may tackle online collaboration due to them creating a Europa that can be used in your browser and then maybe increasing the resolution of reason all while adding other features that are highly requested. So don’t fret if this update doesn’t excite you.

I'm leaning heavily towards purchasing Reason Intro on the weekend. Having all that stuff in Studio One is really attractive... maybe not the best sounding stuff ever, but... so much to play with.
And i remember i really loved the RV7000 reverb.

Interesting thread about people jumping ship over here... feels a bit like deja-voo...

But as usual people (you in this case) don't take into account that it's the negative ones who makes most of the noise, always. And this is not because they are a larger group.reggie1979 wrote: Wed Aug 28, 2019 6:07 pmI see it as about 60-40 with that majority going to being not enthused. Not really sure why I'm catching so much shit today, but I'm entitled to my opinion just as much as you are. Singling me out and making this personal is childish and stupid.
Oh well, another one bites the dust. You're not the most important person.

Oh, you are one of those who feel offended when someone don't think the way you do, sorry about that, didn't mean to hurt your feelings.reggie1979 wrote: Wed Aug 28, 2019 7:24 pm Not really sure why I'm catching so much shit today, but I'm entitled to my opinion just as much as you are. There are a handful of people here who seem to guide conversations the same way every time. I’m not sure if it’s with a feigned innocence or if they truly are in denial of their poor social skills. Either way, I doubt any of those people are going to change their ways anytime soon.reggie1979 wrote: Wed Aug 28, 2019 7:24 pm Not really sure why I'm catching so much shit today, but I'm entitled to my opinion just as much as you are. It's really annoying. Are they children? Who says everyone should have a glowing review of 11 as if we're just so lucky that they even give us the time of day?
I thought my comments were at the very least, respectful. Now I'm a negative nancy just because I'm not getting a hard-on over this update?
This and the wagtunes guy being such a rude twat (if I'm wrong, just say so, don't be a douche) have got me very upset today. Most days are fun and people agree, disagree, it's all good. Today I'm public enemy number one for some reason.

For real? That can't be right. I would think that using Reason as a rewire slave would be more efficient and less prone to crashing than the plugins. No they will ditch rewire.
I guess the Rack Extensions are not going to be developed much further beyond Propellerhead?

Reggie, I've learned long ago that reasonable people, of which is a silent majority, generally can sniff out the asshole in the room and tend to keep their discovery to themselves. So stand by your convictions and opinions, and let those assholes stink as much as they like they aren't fooling anyone.
Fortunately there's not many around here, the air is still fairly fresh.

Which can be done with rewire too , everything can be controlled over midi by the master , and renoise made it superconvenient by just magically exposing all the midi cc's for the selected instrument .antic604 wrote: Wed Aug 28, 2019 2:18 pmBecause you can actually now use the rack as any other VST? Send MIDI to it from the track it sits on and get back audio for further processing. Actually, you get 16 audio outputs from single Rack VST, so you can send e.g. each Kong pad to its dedicated track. You also get Audio In and Sidechain In. The only thing you don't get - for now, at least - is MIDI out for Playersgentleclockdivider wrote: Wed Aug 28, 2019 1:55 pm I have never used reason's sequencer , always rewired a custom template consisting of a couple of thors and Kongs ..all having their own individual output ( for inserting vst fx ) and separate mid channel sequencer from renoise. You will have to load multiple vst-racks to do the same thing , how is this superior ?
And you can automate any button, slider or knob of the devices sitting in Rack VST, including changing of patterns in sequencer devices.
I'd say it's pretty convenient.
Audio in , ok that's a vst rack advantage .
Sure you get 16 audio tracks in rack vst , but only 1 midi channel ... so ONE rack instance will never replace rewire , you will need to load muliple instances

Nah , it's the same as selecting the patches and programs on my hardware , hardly a show stopper for memholloway wrote: Wed Aug 28, 2019 3:51 pmOne thing you're overlooking in your assertion that 'rewire is better than a plugin rack' is that Rewire means opening two different programs, creating 'sessions' in each, saving each session independently, and thereby needing to -- when wanting to load that single 'song' -- open two different programs and individually load two different song files. Maybe seems like nothing to you, but I'd say it counts as a large-deal workflow killer for many people. If nothing else, a Reason rack VST means crossover DAW+Reason Rack projects are completely self contained. I think that's a huge plus in terms of simple, everyday organization.gentleclockdivider wrote: Wed Aug 28, 2019 1:55 pm
From a pure technical standpoint , rewire is more capable , it has +1 midi input
I have never used reason's sequencer , always rewired a custom template consisting of a couple of thors and Kongs ..all having their own individual output ( for inserting vst fx ) and separate mid channel sequencer from renoise
You will have to load multiple vst-racks to do the same thing , how is this superior ?
Then when you add in the fact that the VST rack can be used as an FX processor -- which you've acknowledged, sure, but made much too light of -- This is a huge deal. People have wanted to run SKREAM in their DAW for years!
+ everything that Antic604 posted about above, and yeah, a VST rack is much, much better than Rewire.

Thats what I am trying to point out why rewire is superior , rack vst has only 1 midi channel ( not a bus )Cochrane wrote: Wed Aug 28, 2019 5:31 pm A little question about Reason Rack plugin: how many MIDI ports to rack devices does VST3 plugin support? So if you're not sequencing fron the internal rack sequencers you're forced to load new rack vst's instances
