Simple. I have a piano part (MIDI) in Cubase. I need to be able to create a chord chart out of the piano part. Is there a way to do this in Cubase?

I also have Finale 4. Is there a way to export the MIDI file to Finale and create the chord chart there?

I don't want to do this manually as it will take forever.

Please help. I need to do this for 10 songs and I need it right away.

Create a blank Chord track. Go to your midi track, select it, right click it and choose 'create chord symbols', which will populate the chord track with the chords in midi.

More functionality - go to the bottom chord pads, pulldown and choose 'assign pads from chord track', and it populates them.
Have you tried Vital?

Okay, the first part I figured out and I did that. But I don't understand the more functionality part.

More importantly, after I have all these chords (my music is so damn complicated) how do I export them so I can put them in like a Word Doc so I can then put lyrics under them? Or do I have to do that by hand?

I'm not 100% certain what you're looking to do, however you may simply want to open up the sheet music, go to the menu Scores and score and click 'open score editor'. However it seemed you were looking for a way to easily identify the chord progressions, maybe just zoom in on that chord track, print screen, and cutout?

The more functionality allows you to assign the chord pads the actual chords that have been identified, which perhaps you're not needing if I'm reading this correctly, but it will put the chords all in a row for you for further manipulation.

I basically need to provide lead sheets for a band. Chords and lyrics. I have the chords generated now (Cubase isn't 100% accurate here) and am just typing them manually over the lyrics in the document, unless there's an easier way to do this.
