If they did make a new version of it, what should it include, where should it go?
All the algorithms updated to circuit models for amps and stomp boxes. Doesn't need more features, just better sound quality.

Beyond that, speaker cone emulation would be very interesting. I know there are people who are interested in more accurate power amp interaction. Once the amp modelling is more accurate it would be nice to see some other kinds of amps as well: Bogner, Laney, Engl, Boss, Blackstar, Sunn?

A complete overhaul of the sound engine and the ability to do your own IR's would be a good start.
You can load your own IR into Reflektor and save it under one preset.

But that is clunky. But you are right, it's doable.

Yes, that would be a nice upgrade, indeed.

it aint gonna happen. i think NI focus on Komplete and I don't think GR is the big selling point. I think those customers want the instruments and samples.

Bugger Bogner!

Errr..Guitar Rig, love the effects and the way it's set out, never really been a fan of the amps/cabs themselves though, no jangle/chime for my purposes.

Whilst you sexually assault that amp, I have another few suggestions.

How about really cheap little solid state practice combos? Might be an ideal sound for black metal.

Maybe some speakers that weren't intended for guitars: Hi fi, studio monitors, megaphones, toys? Being able to swap not just cabinets but the speakers inside. Combine different speakers in one cab. Both cabs and speakers need to be modelled though. If that is done then we could find out what a single cabinet with 64 speakers in it sounds like. If your CPU can cope. If any current CPU can cope.

Oh. And a slashed speaker cone model.

And using cabinets as microphones.

There are also JOYO amps heads, which don't sound too bad at all.

And more Orange amps, of course.

Most important thing will be overhauling the DSP. I'd be happy if they did that and reduced the number of amp options. Quality over quantity.

any suggestions on dealing with undead software? :help:

Might as well be for £179.00, for that price, I'd want a physical object.
Something like a Boss Katana 50 or Bugera G5 Infinium (£160), both of these fit that price range. Both have silent recording options, don't know about re-amping.
The reviews of the Boss look decent.

I don't even consider it as viable ampsim anymore. However, it is and always has been a great FX rack IMHO. It still gets a lot of use in that role around these parts.

Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.

for sure.
i even have a patch that contains stand ins for my physical pedal board.
much easier to switch around the order to see if different things work :)
then i can copy the final order decision over to the physical.

They are better than decent. Really blows line 6 out of the water.
