You can get decent vowels from a synth with a formant filter, like the aforementioned free Full Bucket stuff. Fancier vocal synths, though, usually end up going in the direction of singing lyrics and having realistic phoneme transitions, rather than flexible oohs and aahs. But do take a look at PPG Phonem - it's weeeeeeeeeeeeeird, but will let you play with the inner workings of vowels in a way no other synth will.
Thank you again for PPG Phonem. I have tested and just bought it.

I think I don´t really understand its Potential yet, but I´m sure it has lots of it. Waht I like most: it has Character and you can generate completely different Sounds. It can produce really brute Monster! Basses and the 80s Style "Art of Noise" Synth Phonems it did within Minutes really convinced me.

As mentionded: my Focus is VOX/Voice - and this VST shares my Interest. It´s a must have - although it seems to have a really steep learning curve.

With V1.2 it can dump files for Infinite Pro and the PPG Universe seems endless fun with a scientific Approach. It´ll bring me back to additive Synthesis. Maybe next year...

Yeah, it really does have a steep learning curve, but the potential is huge. How suitable it really is for doo-wop... well, let us know in a few weeks or months.
