Sounds like too much effort using an Ipad...I use to produce music whilst half drunk after coming back from the pubs and nightclubs with a Playstation One controller and a copy of Music 2000 20 years ago..... Woke up next morning only to discover that what I'd created didn't sound as good as what I though it was the night before... In 2001 I put them all on a CD and made an inlay cover.

Installed the beta yesterday. Used the rack vst in Cubase. I like it very much so far, real fun. the only thing for me is it seems like you cant output midi data from reason arpeggiator or player devices.. hope it will be possible in the future.
CPU usage if fine. not ultra low, but just as expected, like most other plugins on the market.

Having left Reason behind years ago with a sour taste left behind, Ive been pretty sceptical of all things Reason for years. This sparks my curiosity though. I wonder how it would be to use some of those old rack units in Logic. The main thing I might see as useful would be dr rex and the library of loops, and maybe kong. Also, the multiband gate is pretty amazing tbh. If they wanna start building goodwill they shoukd start allowing resale of rack extensions if they havent already, or at least allow to transfer them with your license when selling. Thats a major thorn in the eye for me.

That’s impressive, taking into consideration there’s a metric shit ton of logging code running to slow it down. This suggests the release channel will be a lot faster yet.

There are so many new REs, synths and FX, and players, that you can wire up in the Rack. If you like sound design then this is it. I got the Synth Rig pack for 50% off, that is a half dozen monster synths for $150 - no sour taste after that. But I hear you. Anyhow now you can use the sequencer of choice and that is super useful. And I can use Predator as an FX unit with audio in, or The Legend for the filter only - nice nice...

While the included instruments in reason intro are nice ( and accompanying rack vst )
For sounddesign I would choose vcv rack /reaktor over reason anytime.
Vcv rack has less full fledged instruments, but the quality of some modules are exceptionally good ( vult modules etc .. ) and the signal and modulation path is @ full audio rate , 1 sample modulation .
Can't say that for reason
Eyeball exchanging
Soul calibrating ..frequencies

so if you can use the rack in fl studio for example this will be massive!
does reason rack also have presets itself combining effects + instruments within? this would be interesting for sound design :).

can anyone of the reason users let me know please? for 350 bucks so many instruments, effects + a rack full of capabilities is not a big price in my opinion.... if im correct

The whole Reason VST Rack Plugin brings all the instruments and effects (included REs) into any DAW. It's basically Reason standalone without the sequencer, mixer and the core features.

PS. And yes, you can load stuff from the Refills like you can in the stand-alone version.

Can i load the Reason VST more than once in a project? So that i can build different Racks.

Yeah that's been confirmed from what I know.

Post

No you can only create one vst per project, but they are looking into it to let you add few more. :hihi:

Dont know if this was listed here, but will the new fx (chorus rack, filter rack, mixer fx) be included in the Intro version or only the regular & suite versions of Reason?
I read more than post = I listen more than I talk
