Make more compliments

How often do you give compliments to your friends?
And how often do you share your appreciation to your fellow members at KvR?
We all like to receive compliments, a pad on the back or just a word of appreciation, for we are all humans and all have our bundles of emotions inside. When a bunch of us went to Stuttgart to see the Putte gig, he shared a new song with us that to this day is stuck in my head. I simply love the warmth that he shares freely and want to compliment Putte on all you share here, from the great songs that spring from your mind to the love you give to KvR.
Through time I have gotten to know vurt quite well and consider him a dear friend. I want to thank you for the friendship and the love you have shared with me and how with your down to earth look on things you have opened my eyes to different ways of dealing with situations.
Clueless and Glassback; you both have offered your homes to me while visiting the UK and allowed me in your lives be it for a few days. It meant incredibly much to me and I wanted to thank you for your hospitality and warmth. I owe you one and hope to one day host my own house for you.
A person that is rapidly becoming very special and dear to me is Sickle666. There's heaps to share yet, but allready the foundations are there. Remember the promise and Don; thank you for the very special friendship you have shared with me allready.
All the people I have met sofar this past year; thank you so much for being there on these very special occasions and help make these gatherings something special and something to look out for.
I realize the list could go on forever and there are a lot of people I would want to compliment here at KvR but for now I'll stop and I'll share more here through time.
Most of all though I wish to compliment Ben for building the foundations of a place that in my years online I have not seen anywhere else. I can only hope we meet in person one day so I can thank you face to face.
Now who would you want to compliment and why?
Here's your chance to highlight that one member that has helped you in a special way.

hmm..well, you know you're in my inner circle, mystahr., & noone that's been here a minute can say a single bad thing about you. You give way more of yourself to ppl here than anyone else, which is a great thing to see, but I want to see you doing more for yourself as well.
It might have been more obvious to ppl here than I wanted it to be, but I was in a tail-dive last month, & really wasn't sure what was gonna happen in my home.
I was unprepared for the enourmous amount of support I recieved here in PM's, & this thread is a great opportunity for me to thank those individuals, so here goes:
mystahr, vurt, ew, bluedad, pao, BONES(!), nocompromise, Ben, Big Karma, xoxos, NicFit, Spe3d, McLilith, WilliamK, endmusik, & pHz..
That list reads like a who's who of who actually gives a shit (about me, anyways..), & they're all Top Shelf Human Biengs.
It's possible I'm missing one or two others, & if I didn't mention you I apologize, as I was as close to a complete breakdown at that point & many ppl were trying to help me, but I wanna especially thank everyone who took the trouble of sending me an email or PM through that extremely difficult time.
KvR rocks da house.
peace,

Thank you, guys. You are fantastic.
Now, please, explain me what's the difference between "phaser" and "flanger".

A flanger is based on a delay line that is constantly changing it's delay time. The delay time is typically swept up and down, by modulating it with a sine or triangle waveform. Mix some of the original signal, with some of the delayed signal, and you have flanging. Sometimes the delayed signal is inverted, to offer a change in the effect's timbre. Sometimes a little bit of the delay's output signal is feed back to it's input, to intensify the effect.pgcarea51 wrote:Now, please, explain me what's the difference between "phaser" and "flanger".
A phaser does not use a delay line, but a series of variable phase-shifting networks, which are typically modulated by a sine or triangle waveform. If you aren't sure what a phase-shifting network is, you can think of it as being like a special filter. Some of the original signal is usually mixed with some of the signal that passed through the phase-shifting network. Using more phase-shifting stages in series will make the effect more pronounced. Being able to invert the phase-shifted signal is sometimes an option, to offer a different timbre.
Does that answer your question?

Definitely some splendid chaps and chapettes around here. It'd be a bit unfair to list names in case I missed folks off, but one would hope they know who they are...
...and definitely a massive thanks to anyone who's ever said anything complementary about any music I've posted, cos after all, that's what kept me here and continuing to do it...
Not sure what flangers have to do with that, but thats KVR for you...

An idiot on Set Theory:
