I’m actually too afraid to rely on it... and Absynth, given NI’s penchant for dropping plugins entirely. It probably is good, but until I can be assured by NI themselves, I don’t really want to rely on it.

Nothing is as reassuring in this given context as an update/upgrade. Or at least, the announcement of one. Given the new Massive and no “update” for the last version. I am getting nervous about relying on that too!!

In the meantime, I’ll be sticking with PA and Waves and the odd Amplitube “no brainer” purchase. Then there is what Logic has to offer. At least I can be more assured that these plugins will have a future. Waves themselves have some of the most oldest plugins out there. All have which still work to this day and have even been updated for the DSP requirements of 2019.

I seriously think guitar Gig is so far behind that if they do Guitar Gig 6, they'll probably need to contract out to a company like Softube and have the whole thing re-conceptualised from the ground up and coded from scratch.

Just saying, I'd heard that it was developed by contractors rather than the regular N.I team, that's why it doesn't move, because the team that made it aren't there, and I say Softube (just as an example) because they do make amp-sims and they already have a relationship with I.K, they made their compressors and EQs... anyway, just spit-balling.

GR was definitely made by in-house team, but of course personnel does change through years.

Softube created only RC reverbs, VC compressors and Active/Passive EQs for NI, but nothing other than that. Crush/Mod Pack is all NI's own FX team.

Mokafix stuff was great. Though NI would rather make him code pointless Reaktor ensembles.

Oh right, I just remember reading that in another forum where people were speculating about Guitar Rig's future... but yeah, you're right, just because some random dude says something on the net doesn't make it true.

Yes, in Native Access, when you click on Guitar Rig 5 in product list, go to Changes tab.

This is a bit concerning. According to a Facebook post a short while ago by Plugin Alliance's Dirk Ulrich, "NI just had to fire 50%(!) of their German staff last week".

Yeah, they've moved on. They were one of the first and I had Komplete for a long time so it was cool and all, but it's dead.

Now, if I did graphics I'd show a grave stone with the years Guitar Rig was available and a RIP
