It took me so long to realize that we are talking about Native Instruments Massive X layoffs. X because every '100% trusted' insider source like Dirk or Uli gave quite different numbers
So maybe it's a marketing strategy for Massive X?
Ps. so many already see collapse of NI because of layoffs. But do you know those people? Do you think that all of them were their best programmers and engineers? What if most of those positions were administrative/office/QA? I don't know anyone working for NI but from my experience not every employee in IT/Tech/etc. is great or worth to be kept. I know examples where proportion between two employees and their 'work force' is like 300:1). We don't know those people so reviews and complaining on Glassdoor doesn't really tell us that much as it may seems. So many possibilities...

Is this a joke?... what is next? official slavery=future too?...
Seriously, comments like these that makes me wonder about the future of this generation.
Please, use your mind and at least think a little bit better about some basic stuffs, how things can be better and how to make it better, not like this nonsense and very bad conclusion from you.
With all respect.

maybe theyre not actually "lay offs" so much as non renewal of contracts.pixel85 wrote: Tue Sep 03, 2019 7:07 pm It took me so long to realize that we are talking about Native Instruments Massive X layoffs. all the people involved might be british, and no one knows whether they will be allowed to stay, so no point renewing contracts. just send em back!

Nice what if but it's just that, a what if. The reality is something else.pixel85 wrote: Tue Sep 03, 2019 7:07 pmWhat if most of those positions were administrative/office/QA?

As long as they kept the person writing the Massive X manual on. Though I think they're a were-person. Normally a wolf, but when the moon is full they crawl through a window at NI, turn into a human, and write a chapter of the manual.

But a company doesn't slash a huge percentage of their workforce if their economy is healthy. The programmers / engineers doesn't decide the direction / focus of the company. It's the job of the managers / board.
This is only my opinion, but slashing that many employees sounds like it was something that had to be done to save the company. I don't see the collapse of NI, but it tells me the company has a problem with high costs and not enough revenue.

I have just checked their current careers page. Let me put it like this: it make use of lots of whitespace.
https://www.native-instruments.com/en/career-center
Doesn't look good for a company of their size.

True. One thing we can all agree, this lay off isn't a sign of health.DrGonzo wrote: Tue Sep 03, 2019 7:42 pmYou are quite right of course.pixel85 wrote: Tue Sep 03, 2019 7:07 pm Ps. so many already see collapse of NI because of layoffs.
