Yeah, I’m not sure what to make of this. That’s never a good sign for any company. It’s usually a sign of money troubles, bad investment, bad planning, a combination of the three.

I don’t think they will go under. Someone else will be likely to buy them up before that would happen. For you PC cats I’d start praying that it isn’t Apple!!

I was unaware that there were issues. I never sell, so I’ve never had to transfer ownership. Given they have gone the ways of the subscription model I doubt they have changed their transfer process.

What was the problem with it??

Behri posted a bit of incorrect info. 200 engineers weren't fired, more like 30 or so, the rest ranged from sales, marketing, some product owners, etc.

I keep waiting in vain for Kemper to come to the VST party. I guess general purpose CPUs are still not quite fast enough. Although maybe they are and Kemper are making enough from their high end hardware to not need the hassle and it's not like someone can easily release a cracked version of their Profiling amps.

They most certainly are enough. Kemper runs on a Freescale DSP chip running at 400 MHz.

Damn, I was hoping it was a physical restriction rather than Kemper just wanting to stay out-of-the-box.
Though tbf you shouldn't do equivalency tests between a dedicated DSP and a generic CPU based on clock frequency comparisons.

Sure, but even then, when you have TEN TIMES faster CPUs available, it's enough to raise an eyebrow. Yes, there's the OS and all the extra stuff DSP doesn't need to worry about, but raw GFLOPS power is still there. The algorithms themselves are definitely possible on x86 CPUs I'm sure. It's just that they don't want to port them there, that alone is obvious. Hardware can't be pirated
