the problem isn't the topic, it's a few people, the same people who seem to think it's funny to keep derailing these threads...it was tried and they didn't stop...when something significant changes with massive x we can talk but right now like the last quoted I quoted it's been done to death...we dont need another thread of jokes about aliasing, pages and pages of gripes about the gui and then more battles...all has been done to death.
If there is an update/upgrade or something announced sure, but until something else new comes along worth talking about, no.

I'm sorry you see it that way, my bad for expecting mature behaviour when confronted with people who aren't in agreement without everything.recursive one wrote: Fri Sep 06, 2019 2:40 pmI'm sorry but it does look like thattapekiller wrote: Fri Sep 06, 2019 2:34 pm I'm only a hater and a crybaby who can't play with broken toys, therefore all I can do is whining![]()
The prerequisites for a constructive discussion are clearly missing, since I still haven't really confronted myself with someone who disagrees with me politely and makes room for an actual discussion, rather than a circlejerk where NI can't mess up because they're NI.
I guess I'm done here.

Why don't you just ban them so people who aren't trolls can talk about it? Or maybe get more moderators? Unless the people you're talking about leave the forum it means the topic will never be up for discussion.Hink wrote: Fri Sep 06, 2019 2:56 pmthe problem isn't the topic, it's a few people, the same people who seem to think it's funny to keep derailing these threads...it was tried and they didn't stop...when something significant changes with massive x we can talk but right now like the last quoted I quoted it's been done to death...we dont need another thread of jokes about aliasing, pages and pages of gripes about the gui and then more battles...all has been done to death.

and when it's released we can try another thread but there is no need for another ramp up thread to the thread with many follow up threads to come...is that hard to see beating the same poor old dead horse?
edit: and please understand it isn't that I understand people want to talk about it, but that is no longer available due to the constant ignoring of attempts to stop the bickering in these threads and constant redirecting to stay on topic.
I dont think some people get the fact that no personal attacks, no trolling, no flaming and staying reasonably on topic are expectations that apply to every thread/post...not just when a mod says stop.

You can kiss good-bye all your hopes for a new Absynth version.

Or at the very least the wait will be a protracted one.Neon Breath wrote: Fri Sep 06, 2019 3:14 pm You can kiss good-bye all your hopes for a new Absynth version.

Well, I think it's really too early for any of us make a solid conclusion from the NI news. But it's nonetheless nice (and informative) to read everybody's guesses about it.

Of course, no more Absynth is still assumption but still, for me 1+1=2. It's just pure logic by looking at the facts and the way where NI is heading.Sinisterbr wrote: Fri Sep 06, 2019 3:32 pm Well, I think it's really too early for any of us make a solid conclusion from the NI news. The language of the NI announcement did not imply a subscription model to me... it's a possible option for sure. But I believe a choice of "Try, Buy, Rent-to-Own, or Subscribe" is the much more likely scenario.
One "friction" of the current way of getting NI products is the "online store/shopping cart" concept.
Instead:
Some merging of the Native Access app + Komplete Kontrol app will allow for auditioning apps & content.. then a built-in way to either:
1) Try
2) Buy
3) Rent-to-Own
4) Subscribe
And this would be the same environment for whatever your type of controller is: a KK keyboard, a Maschine device, a Traktor device... and even 3rd party midi controllers.
This could be the future as described in the NI announcement:
"Recognizing changing customer behaviors worldwide, the aim of focusing on a unified platform strategy is to create an expandable commercial and technological basis for future growth in the digital music production area. For that, a new platform is currently being developed with the goal of offering new ways of accessing the company’s core products and services, as well as complementary ones from third-parties. The centralized platform will also include the company’s expanded portfolio of loops and samples, which is currently part of sounds.com, and will launch in 2020. The company’s previous divisional structure, functional and brand silos, did not allow for a successful implementation of this strategy up until this point.
Customers today are expecting a seamlessly integrated experience when consuming and accessing creative goods and services. We are confident that we can offer music producers worldwide a unique and premium experience by connecting our existing ecosystem of award-winning software and hardware to a centralized online service,” said Mate Galic, Native Instruments’ Chief Innovation Officer and President. “In the past, we expanded in different product lines, which was also reflected in our organizational structure. Our platform vision, however, requires a much more collaborative approach, having all parts of the company work together towards one common goal.”

I very much like the visual appearance of MX... but the workflow is poor.Sinisterbr wrote: Fri Sep 06, 2019 12:03 pm I love the MX interface, I personally think it's gorgeous. Of course it's got its flaws, but I see no "wasted space" there.
I think the LFO's are wasted space. That big circle of options could be replace by 2 knobs. 1 Knob would have 3-4 basic shapes and the other knob would morph the shape. It would be far more flexible and use less space. The LFO's seem like a case of form over function to me.

I don't consider its flaws minor... no midi learn is not minor. A barely functional browser that offers no organizational possibilities whatsoever is not minor. Having to click on 18 different tabs to determine all the possible targets for a macro is not minor. And while it might not matter to some others, that MX is incapable of using expression pedal or breath controller or respond to PolyAT (Original Massive does) those are not minor to me.recursive one wrote: Fri Sep 06, 2019 7:47 amMX wasn't well received and people don't seem to consider that such sound and all the awesome features MX has got, including some very innovative ones, can excuse its numerous but minor flaws, I think it's even somehow sad. This actually makes me worry about the MX fate, especially in view of the recent news, looks like it's a prime candidate for being discontiuned in favour of Machine expansions, 8-knob romplers and such.
It is not possible for me to assign a knob on my midi controller to filter cutoff
It is not possible to duplicate an Osc I like in one preset to another as there are no parameter values or copy paste options.
The workflow is so clumsy... no mousewheel support, no arrow key support, so many tiny little menus and tabs.
I agree it is a top synth in terms of sound quality... but it is a bottom synth in terms of everything else.

Well, it is what it is, and with the shake up at NI it’s not likely to be something they will change anytime soon.
I think it’s reasonable to expect a delay before they get back to reviewing user suggestions and implementing changes.
