File management for ST2 XL & Should I delete ST1 LE

Just got ST2XL loaded alongside ST1 LE. I'm looking for a bit of advice.

Q1. Is there any benefit to keeping ST1 LE loaded ? My initial checks seem to say that v2 will play v1 files. SO I cant see any reason to keep it loaded

Q2. I now have a pretty huge collection of Sampletank 1&2 Free stuff, Sonic Synth 1 Stuff as well as the ST2XL.I notice that all the samples, Presets and FX files get loaded on the C: under program files. Is it OK to Move the instrument, fx & preset folders for ST2XL to my samples folder to get all of my samples in one place ? Are there any folders or files i have to leave under program files ?

You could leave ST1 LE on there if you like but chances are you'll want to use ST2 most of the time anyway. That's up to you. I haven't used ST1 in over a year and don't care to go backwards. I LOVE my ST2! Editing for one thing is nice plus of course the addition effects and ability to see all 16 channels at the same time... you get spoiled by it and then ST1 is left in the dust (as are many other sound modules that aren't multitimbral or filled with fx this good).

As far as putting the sounds on another drive this is possible but all you have to do is move the ST2Instruments folder to whatever place you want it (don't move the other files though) and when you open the interface just hit the "Pref" button and then browse to where you put the ST2Instruments folder.

Thanks for the advice. I'm going to leave ST1 for now and probably delete it on my next VST cull.

Can I just double check if its OK to move the Effects and Preset folders to another area? I want to make sure they are in "My Documents" with my soundlibrary and samples so they get backed up.
