Hmm I don't think they are clowns. They founded the company like 23? years ago and their management gave us Reaktor, Kontakt, Komplete, Massive, Absynth, Kore, Maschine, Tracktion etc. Yes, engineers designed and coded but who hired the engineers? Who gave the go-ahead for each product? And (except for Kore) who decided to employ people to kept them functional?

The negative employee reviews (on glassdoor) are mostly from the last 3 years. Now what happened 3 years ago? ...Oh yeah there was that $59 million capital injection from a group of young guys who made their money very quickly from some tech enterprise. Who are these guys? Are they on the Native Instruments board of directors? Was their investment contingent on receiving board positions? If not, do they influence executive decisions, and if so how?

2003 Entrepreneurs

The founding partners of EMH, Maximilian and Sebastian Kuss have been active as entrepreneurs in the digital economy for 15 years and have thus lived and breathed digitalisation since its inception. While still in school and university, they already founded two tech-companies and sold them at a profit.
That was the starting point for their investment activities.

2010 Family Office

With the founding of EMH (European Media Holding) in 2010, Maximilian and Sebastian Kuss transformed from entrepreneurs to investors. Together with co-investors, they have invested significantly more than €100 million in tech and e-commerce companies. The majority of these investments has already been successfully sold.

2016 Private Equity

The EMH Digital Growth Fund was created in 2016 with the primary goal to support attractive SMEs with growth capital. Our approach is based on our entrepreneurial mindset, expertise in digitalisation and long-standing experience as investors. Thereby, we close the existing funding gap above venture capital and below traditional buyout funds.
Facts: EMH Digital Growth Fund
The EMH Digital Growth Fund comprises €350 million. Through a co-investment programme with our investors, we are able to invest another €350 million.
The fund invests European money into European companies. Our limited partners include high-profile institutional investors, such as pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, insurances, fund of funds, financial institutions, foundations, family offices and entrepreneurs. In addition, our team has invested significantly into the fund.

Looks like that Kiveda company also failed to reach their goals:
https://www.deutsche-startups.de/2019/0 ... heck-2017/

Their business model seems to be selling kitchen... but online. So the classic business idea of "old business model... but on a computer/on the internet".

Perhaps these EMH guys should stop touching stuff... :hihi:

The article also mentions that the two Kuss brothers (see above) invested some of the money they collected through EMH for doing investments into Kiveda, a company that they themselves have founded, and which is something considered to be frowned upon. Guess that tells you a bit about their management style.

Inviting such people inside the company is likely the beginning off the end ,... a way of draining the value out of company

Seen before ,.. the classic recipe

For how long that procces will last is a cost/benefit calculation , could be years, as the down-hill goes on, while pretending "OK"

The founders could be aware, and a part of it, a way to retire and release the value out of NI, or they could be trapped simply

Most likely they are aware

But first they will suck the last drop of blod out of the format-monopoly they created obviously

Makes sense they fired all those people then

Any kind of substance and hard work they threw over the fence to those developers that support their format

Well... that's exactly what they're aiming for at the moment, right? :)

It is always the same. Companies are owned by the upper positioned people. The others are just workers who fill out stuff they cannot and if not needed they throw em away and if the model isnt profitable they resteucture. Nothing new. You are just a worker unless you have your own business.

Time to download updated FM8, Absynth, and any other updates that I have...

Breadcrumbs can be very useful...look at them and understand what they mean. VIs are better than samples and loops, even though one could argue that many VIs are just samples and loops. But I want Absynth, and FM8. I don't want them to disappear.

I'm more concerned that some small developers will stop their business than big players like NI.
All in all NI's product range is impressing and (when looking at Komplete bundles) is worth the monies.

However, some guys obviously like to pray doom and gloom.
They should produce some Dark Ambient or Death Metal instead of posting this "the end is near" / "managers are bastards" stuff. That would be more entertaining...
