HI , I'm thinking of making a small donation to a freeware developer and I'm wondering how much do these services(paypal,share-it) take from the transaction. Are small donations even worth it?

It is VERY minimal. say if you donated 20$, they would get roughly around 19.12 or so. (it's been a while since I have sold banks) it is really tiny as far as dollar to take out amount....

Percentwise it may come out high because there are two fees - a transaction fee and a percentage fee. So for small payments the fee looks steeper. I'm sure the guy would be very happy for the money no matter what.maxlef wrote:very minimal ?? about 1$ on 20$ !! 5 percents of the transaction !!! i don't find it very low....
tought it was free.. but wow! 'll never use it i guess
I use PayPal all the time and compared to credit card processing it is very cheap.

I've wondered about this too.
This $1 fee, is it for a Paypal donation paid with Visa? Or does Paypal charge extra if you use a credit card?
