When were synth plucks first used? Are the various synths at the beginning of this old song considered plucks? Does pluck basically mean any short synth sounds with fast attack and no sustain?
The real strings are also plucked, nice contrast.

I am not sure who used them first but this is a good early example. They emulate the string pizzacato sound and they are also used in this song as a nice contrasting sound as you mentioned.
