It's kind of a bummer to see people comparing Lion to other synths that are nothing like it; I would have thought people on KVR would respond positively to a synth that does new things that haven't been done before (eg the mixer modes).

I think the comparison was less to do about each synth's respective sonic character and more about complexity/depth, perhaps lineage and support, price stability etc too.
Edit: with VAT in the EU it's $200, which puts it at the same price point as Zebra, which could be argued as being a more feature-rich and comprehensive synth.

I still don't understand this loyalty voucher business. Last month I got $50, this month nothing. I would probably get it if I had even the $25 one on top of the heavy hitter discount. Looks like a promising synth , but the trend for releasing bug-ridden/ unfinished software seems to be ongoing.

Yep just picked up my copy for just under £24

My price is $99 and I have a $50 voucher, so that's $49 + tax ... I doubt its going to get cheaper. No complaints here.

and yes, I own every other UA plugin.

Can't be sure about this but the loyalty vouchers appear to be based on a rolling year. If that doesn't
seem to make it 'understandable' then maybe you just haven't received the one you should have.

Anyone else who got it having trouble accessing presets?

Presets are working fine for me but I've seen other people having issues - maybe it's DAW-specific?

I just bought a hardware synth, but I'll def demo this and decide if/how much I want it before the intro price goes away.

Sorry if this already has been discussed, I only read the last 5-6 pages.

In Bitwig when using LION with Midi-Loops (which at the start of a new track is of course the common way when working with synths) LIONs internal reverbs and delays are reset at the end of a Midi-Loop just right before the Loop jumps back to its beginning. "Reset" means, that the effect(s) are cut off and are applied anew at the beginning of the Midi-Loop. This cutting off is very audible and also happens very often with an also very audible click.
This is very annoying and makes LION for the moment more or less unusable for me which I more than regret.
It happens with both VST2 and VST3 and also with the AU-Version when used via Blue Cat's Patchwork.
On the other hand this does not happen with the AU-version in LIVE (9.1.7) so it seems that this is a LION in Bitwig-problem.
Has anyone else made the same experience?

Oh that's bizarre. I'm wondering if Bitwig is reporting a transport restart when doing MIDI loops. What happens if you nudge the clip and loop braces forward on the track so that it doesn't loop at 1.0.0?

Well I have only tried in Reaper and Maschine but same problem in both programmes
I can access them via NKS in the Maschine Controllers but not via Lion itself.

You won't be disappointed, great developer keeps adding more, nice community over on the deluge forum (they even have their own record label now) - Its a solid brick of a bit of hardware (pictures don't do it justice, Moog type build quality) and once of the best CV sequencers I have to boot (does all the Elektron style probability etc...). Just a ridiculously powerful sequencer/synths/sampler and long rechargeable battery life to boot! Anyway- I will stop derailing the thread now- I am sure there is a Deluge thread somewhere else to rave about it!

To stay OT, I have BYOME (one of my purchasing mistakes) and wouldn't upgrade to LION, I haven't been particularly impressed wit the concept or the bug fixing delivery from PA.

For some reason, PA's installers routinely fail to install our presets under some conditions. Please report this to them via their support form.

it crashes my ableton Live - so it seems to be unstable or causing conflicts like byome and triad.

I got by switching throug presets a 277% cpu consumption, and after thaqt ableton freezes with error message, that Live has to shut down, because of a serious error......

Thanks Michael, I'll try and report it to them
What happened was I bought Lion and used PIA's installer to install it......no NKS and no presets.
So later today I also installed the demo off their site and I now have both presets and NKS but I can only access the presets via NKS.
I saved a self made preset and it now defaults to that at the default location set by Lion and I don't seem to be able to load presets from anywhere else via Lion itself.

$99 intro offer and $50 voucher, so tempting... But I just fear that if I buy it now, a couple days later, there will be a better crossgrade price for byome and triad owners (yes, I have both).
