I had been meaning to wait with even trying Voltage Modular for financial reasons, but Nucleus got me hooked and I ended up getting Core + Electro Drums and the big PSP bundle during the anniversary sale.

The sources and processors I've tried so far all sound really good, and the whole thing just invites experimentation. It looks like I finally have a reason to learn Java.

Extra props for the manual and website being this good with such a small team!
Thanks to you and everyone else that joined our Year One Anniversary sale!

Also, thanks as well to everyone that tuned in to my live KVR presentation. We've been invited to do another KVR live event in October, and we'll be diving in to some more advanced modular synth programming techniques. It should be fun!

The KVR Live Event I did last week is available here:

Thanks again to everyone that tuned in. If there's anything you'd particular like to see or hear in our October live event on modular synth programmer, please let us know!

Could you consider some sort of PDC module? For instance a module to plug after something like the digital vocoder that has a certain number of samples delay and add manually the number of samples, then this module will report PDC to the DAW / host and make sure all other output is automatically shifted forward that number of samples (technically not shifted forward I know, but I'm quite sure you get what I mean ;-) )

Post

And if some sort of PDC module isn't feasible than perhaps at least a possibility to manually add a PDC value to be reported to the host that is per instance and clearly visble on the interface as well as something that can be globally set to always be deactivated for anyone who finds it bothersome somehow. Some hosts are so cumbersome when it comes to PDC, and I have licenses for multiple DAWs so I'll sometimes use an "old" DAW for something and tha would ease the process of moving a patch over to another DAW yet maintain integrity of percussive material.

Is there an upgrade available from Nucleus to Core or any other Bundle?

The Digital Vocoder video link doesn't seem to be working now, for me at least. (Edit. actually their site seems to be down too at the moment)?

And talking vocoders, this is just a comment, and I know it's totally my own fault for not doing enough research, but just a comment in case it might catch anyone else out.
In your main documentation listing all your module, you do not have the later paid modules seperate from the main included modules. With you now having three "levels" of Voltage Modular, it might be worth sorting the index of the documentation into Modules in Nucleus, then Additional Modules in Ignite, then Additional Modules in Core, then finally New Extra Paid Modules. Or words to that effect.
Because your current documentation, for prospective buyers, you list all modules together...

I completly accept I didn't look hard enough, and you do have information listing the differences (https://cherryaudio.com/voltage-modular ... comparison), but from a quick scan of the modules in the Documentaion I thought it included Vocoder, as an example.

Please don't take it that I'm complaining, there is more in Core than I currently even understand what it does, so I'm not begrudging that every module listed in the documentation isn't included in Core, but a suggestion would be to just highlight it in the organisation of the documentation for clarity. Because an impulse buy (hey, the year one sale tempted me) and a skim of your documented modules doesn't seperate them, so might trip someone else up too.

Made a patch with the Digital Vocoder Bundle. Very cool stuff! I think I'll pick it up...

Doesn't that Sampler II GUI look a bit odd? Being shorter than all the others.

It does. But, at the same time it gives it a home-brew look with a custom rack panel with the output jack on it. I don't mind it.

Yes, I see what you mean :) I'm off to get my soldering iron, hole cutter and tin snips.

Awesome, thanks! I was thinking this would have to be my first project once I know enough Java. Just yesterday I had to abandon the sequencers I had going and convert everything to happen via midi notes instead to get a bass line to sit with my drum groove.

You are welcome! I’m thinking that this would actually make a pretty good ”tutorial” project. The basic principle is super simple and can be described in a few words (delay every other trigger by a user-definable amount, that’s it, done), but once you start to design & code it, you realize there’s at least a couple of different ways you can approach the problem, and some aspects are maybe not as clear-cut as they might seem. And once the basic functionality is there, there’s still the other 90% of work that sometimes takes even more time (GUI, testing, debugging, packaging, publishing, etc)... Anyway, once you are confident enough in your Java skills, I suggest maybe try to code a similar module. It might be a good way to get yourself familiar with a lot of stuff that is needed all the time when coding VM modules.
