Thanks for the listen and the feedback.telecode wrote: ↑Fri Sep 20, 2019 10:01 pm Finally got around to listening to Crimes of the Heart. Good tune. Great lead vocal melody. Sort of has a Beatlesque Paul McCartney vein. I do not hear Queen at all. Sorry. IMO about 20 to 30% of the notes that make up the vocal melody could be trimmed. The notes to the first few bars of the chorus are really really good then it sort of goes off into too busy.
FWIW.. just stream of consciousness post and based on listening a few times.
Wags, the PreCrime Division would like to have a word with you...
Thanks for the listen and feedback. Notes taken.McLilith wrote: ↑Tue Sep 24, 2019 7:20 pm I think Wrecking Ball is the best song so far in this thread.
I have a few little suggestions though. I'd like to hear the lead guitar a little bit louder, especially in places where there are not vocals to compete with it. On the other hand, your bass guitar seems a little loud. I can't really hear a kick drum. Maybe the bass guitar is masking it? Maybe you could have the kick drum temporarily attenuate the bass guitar a bit, whenever the kick is struck, through the use of sidechaining? Of course, these are just some suggestions. Do whatever you think is best for your project.
I'm looking forward to hearing what you come up with next in this thread.
