I personally think it is. I wish they had a fee of 129 to upgrade to Reason 11, and then 120 to go to Reason 11 Suite, but seeing as it's 249 to go to Reason Suite from 10 or 11, I'm waiting for a discount.

Kalamata Kid wrote: Thu Sep 26, 2019 2:01 pm It seems that the RACK as a VSTi is not sold separately.
So the most economical way to get the RACK is to buy Reason INTRO.
Correct?
Correct, but INTRO does lack many core Reason devices/instruments/effects. It does work with any RE's you've purchased, though - so there's that.
I want to use the Rack as a VSTi in Studio One likely, but maybe in Cubase or Reaper.
My interest is in the Players. Will likely buy if or when there is a midi out from the Rack.
And if so at $75 (68 euros) ok but to purchase several Players it can get expensive.
I will pass for the time being.

Honestly, these are pretty impressive moves that take a ton of man hours.
OK I'm curious about this rumored hardware, if it's anything like Push 2 this is a great move on their part.

What hardware would they be working on? They failed with Balance already.

No they already have a device that deep integrates better than that, but it’s 3rd party - the Nektar Panorama. I had a Push 2 and sold it. I like real synth keys and mod wheels and didn’t see much value in the Push. That said, I definitely acknowledge it’s value to others and it has made Ableton a lot of money.

From what I have seen online, Reason appears to possibly be moving in the direction of tight hardware integration with it’s DAW or rack VST plugin via Rack Extension. IMO, this is bigger than a controller because no DAW currently has tight integration with hardware due to MIDI jitter.

What could happen here is the possibility of Reason providing tight hardware integration in it’s DAW and beating everyone to this. The tightest I have gotten is Bitwig and an ERM device, but it’s clunky and annoying to use so I sold it. To me that is more powerful and innovative than another DAW controller because it would solve a lot of problems and make a ton of people’s lives easier who use hardware.

This is all nebulous and speculative for now though. Check the last page of this thread for some interesting YouTube videos.

Seems more like hardware integration with a partner, but I just posted a link that you can check out. Unfortunately we are still in speculation mode.

I have no interest in buying the full version of Reason for now, but buying Reason Intro for €79 and getting 11 instruments to add to my arsenal in Cubase is very attractive.

I'm curious to know however, the exact differences between the Intro sounds library and the Full version. Can't seem to find a comparison on the props site.

I am assuming that the presets for each device in Intro are less than Full judging by the library sizes, unless the extra size is just loops?
Anyone has any info I would be grateful.

In any case, if the device preset list is scaled back in Intro I think the props should make the full library available for purchase for Intro users.

Ah yeah, answered my own Q https://www.thomann.de/se/reason_studios.html
The fact that the Sweet version now exists, one can upgrade later on to that if you are new like me with Reason and wanna get a foot in and feel the water for a while. :)
The price will still be with-in the "bargain factor" specially if, should you need all of 'em? right? :)

From the manual :

"Demo Mode is only available in the stand-alone version of Reason not in Reason Rack Plugin."
FFS, it's hard to deal with you.

I'm interested in the 30 day demo of version 11. If there is any reason I cannot please let me know, otherwise you are TOTALLY off base (which I'm used to)
Jesus Christ man - Tourette’s much? I was trying to help. Looks like Anosou got things sorted. Try to relax.
You haven't helped, nobody has and it's frustrating. There is no more support so I can't ask them.

It's really quite simple. I just want to do the 30 day trial of reason 11. There is nothing that I can see on the website that activates this. What would be nice is if someone who knows the secret hand shake help with this.

Post

In the mean time, I'm probably just going to buy the damn thing (ever though I really can't afford it) because I'll use a couple of these features A LOT.

But I have ZERO percent interest in the rack.

Post

So I'll try again,

The 30-day trial comes with everything that Reason has to offer – no feature restrictions.

But all that is available is a download. I don't want to run it in demo mode, I can't load my older projects to see if things are cool.
