The will announce that next version will be version 10 instead of 5.

Post

Version 5 for free for all existing owners. :o

Post

Perhaps some actual 'new features', in Studio One which were absent from 4.5.4... I mean if you're gonna celebrate a products Anniversary, then you surely have to bring something new and cool to it that people will remember for the masses, beyond picking a few people from a hat...

I have no expectations, they just released a hefty update not too long ago. I feel like it'll just be a livestream to promote studio one. So giveaways and interviews with famous users.

Post

Not to play the party pooper, but... it doesn't seem to me as if they would add anything to Studio One.

Of course i will happily take what they will add, if they do. :)

Post

That was lame... how will that be a benefit for existing users??

Post

Just a crummy commercial ? A sale? Meh.... well more users is always a benefit to the the existing user base.

Post

A build up to what ended up as a friggen 5 min sales, name dropping pitch video...like seriously, that's it lol ? I thought Presonus had more foresight to actually make this an event worth remembering... and not something cringe-worthy.

That was...anticlimactic. Just a 25% off sale on Studio One Pro (it was 50% off not long ago) and nothing for the "loyal" users they kept thanking over and over.

I'm not too bothered as Studio One 4.5 was a great free update. I'm glad they didn't delay that just to have it coincide with the 10 year anniversary. But since they kept teasing this "exciting" announcement they should have prepared something bigger for existing users, like a free Studio One addon or something.
Take a single oscillator, producing a drone. Send it to the wave shaper, altering the tone.
This can be a triangle, Sawtooth or a square. Modulate the pulse width, nobody will care

If you watched the non-event marketing video... then buyer beware, history over recent years shows are that it'll be 50% off during the black friday weekend as usual for upgrades, crossgrades, and first time buyers, with an additional discount from select outlets. So if you can wait till the last 3rd of November and want to save more, it's then when it's a good time to get your foot in the door...just keep in mind that version 5.0 will be expected to be out 6 months later.

They realised that pretty quickly themselves after according comments to their Youtube video.
~15 minutes ago, they posted this as a pinned post under their video.

That's really cool of them. An entire Fat Channel collection, like they gave away to new customer recently, would have been even nicer. Still, this was a nice surprise and it proves they do monitor user comments/feedback.

Absolutely agree. And it takes so little for them to make this happen.

Well... a few days ago there were ironic comments on Twitter that their big announcement will probably be something like in the past, i.e. forgetting their loyal user base.
I then responded with a link to the Presonus blog to the Fat Channel giveaway for new customers as an example of that.
Their reaction was to delete said blog post.

Anyhow, I am now back to normal with them

Poor guys. They celebrate their birthday, and the guests want to have the presents. :D
