Submitted support query for issues in Reaper and DP10 in Mojave. Hopefully they solve this.

I am also thinking of what I can actually do in Bitwig/REAPER alone and one minor thing after that, stick with stuff that will work with Linux or my future whine is my own fault, make up my mind.
Will try see if I can get this to run under WINE.

I don’t want to read blown-up blurry text any more than I want to read tiny blurry text. Scaling just increases the size of the pixels, sometimes by resembling them to “smooth” them, which makes them even more blurry than whatever antialiasing (blurring for smoothing sake) is already present. I also don’t want to look at blown up non-blurry chunky-pixel text or graphics.antic604 wrote: Thu Sep 19, 2019 6:00 amWhat DAW are you planning on using it in? Because most DAWs nowadays will scale non hi-DPI aware plugins (Bitwig, Live, Studio One for sure, not Cubase though), so other than devices' GUIs being slightly blocky, they should be usable at least.Jace-BeOS wrote: Thu Sep 19, 2019 1:15 amSummary: I’m glad to see this “Reason as a plugin” feature, but I’m STILL not going to upgrade until high-PPI display support is addressed.

Dauym! don't mess with Jace!
I think this has to be re-done and time is money and all that, no easy quick fix I think.
It is beautiful though (credits for the designer) needs to be said maby.
just the scale/blur >2019+ thing & stuffs
Maby a separate payable UI upgrade patch?

So is it VST3 only? No VST2?
Intro sure does look like a good deal. I don't need it but I used to make tracks on Reason 1.0 to 2.0 way back. Could be fun for Nostalgia. I wish Malstrom was included instead of Europa or Thor though, such a unique little synth.
And do the midi players like the matrix pattern sequencer send midi out in your DAW track when used as a plugin? I've always wanted a sequencer like the Matrix but never found one quite like it.

The original design is indeed nice. I don’t want Reason redesigned. I just want the bitmaps to be a sane size for today’s display resolutions and the comfort of my eyes. Sure it’s work. It’s worth doing. If they haven’t even STARTED to redo the GUI with larger bitmaps by now... [shakes head, rolls eyes]SmajjL wrote: Fri Sep 27, 2019 12:04 am Dauym! don't mess with Jace!

Correct. Reason Plugin is only available as a VST3. Ironically Reason DAW proper only supports VST2.

I just installed it, and while I will definitely upgrade in order to get all my Refills and REs into Ableton (I have been a Reason user since Version 7), the lack of scalability/hi-DPI settings sure is disappointing. It almost ruins the experience.
One question for the group - I selected an external drive for the program installation, which seems to have taken. However, all of the content (3.47 Gb) was nevertheless installed on the local hard drive at C:\ProgramData\Propellerhead Software. Is there a way I can move this folder to the external drive and have Reason point to that instead? I don't see an option to select the path for content in Preferences.
Thanks in advance!!

I dunno, but the GUI aspect has been a concern for some time. Why they haven't addressed this is a mystery to me.
I know I'm not an "expert coder" but I feel this is a no-brainier and necessary for the development of Reason.

I filed a ticket about this and was told that no option was "by design." There is a way to get around it, though, for example:bharris22 wrote: Fri Sep 27, 2019 1:30 am However, all of the content (3.47 Gb) was nevertheless installed on the local hard drive at C:\ProgramData\Propellerhead Software. Personally I think that the fact that "by design" they allow no option and don't appear to be willing to change it is bizarre, but I'm just demo-ing it and it's new to me. Probably not going to get it.

Dave Clark

I remember when I first was using Reason v1, the rack filled the screen completely. It was great! Then I remember using it on a friends computer and the rack only took up half the width of the screen which annoyed me. I didn't quite grasp the concept of what a higher res screen would do to the GUI. But yeah that was around 2000. I'm amazed they haven't changed the GUI resolution since then.
