why is it a sad day if ttoz is happy? does it have any reflection on how You feel about your computer? if not, then relax! People make choices based on their needs.DHR53 wrote:It's a sad day... George Bush likes PCs, you know...

Yeah well he's probably gotten used to just having just one button by now - you know, the one that flashes red after you butt your cigar out on it.spaceman wrote:... but he's dumb enough to use a MacDHR53 wrote:It's a sad day... George Bush likes PCs, you know...

...I'm going in the opposite direction myself... trying to focus on fewer synths! More choices... means more decisions, more complexity etc. etc. I never used half of the stuff I had on my PC??? ...But hey, I'm glad I sold all of my old stuff to him before he switched

I'm actually thinking very seriously about making a move in the other direction. The main reason is I really hate the way the PC hosts handle VST automation. Logic does it the way you'd expect - each parameter displayed in its own lane and easily moved along with the clip. You'll be surprised how much this hurts in Sonar or Cubase. It's also fairly easy to convert midi cc data to a normal vst parameter automation track.ttoz wrote:The transition is now final. I don't see how Ben can call me Granny Smith anymore![]()
I actually haven't turned the mac on for a month and realized that i am getting very used to CubaseSX, and that there's just too many Win only synths I adore, and i really would rather have only one box. SO while my mac and cinema screen are currently fetching ridiculously high prices at ebay (who knows why macs are worth so much here in oz), i am enjoying making music with my favorite sounds again. i do miss logic, but that's it now, I have even converted most of my logic songs (very painful process), and put logic on ebay as well.
Thought I'd just let you all know!
Logic's folders make a lot more sense to me too. It's very easy to tag sections of a song and move them around as a unit. Much more difficult in Sonar or Cubase. I was really hoping the play order track in SX3 would work the same way but it's much less useful in its current incarnation.
Essentially, Logic feels much more like a composer's tool than other hosts, which still feel more like a glorified multi-track recorder.
I'm pretty reluctant to give up z3ta but at this point that's the only pc-only VST I don't think I could do without.
