Well, I been at it again - new look site - crisper and cleaner than that dull grey one I had before.

I'm trying to keep it pretty simplistic and fairly minimal in design -
I want it to be easily navigable as well as quick loading.

There's a couple of new pages:
Older Tunes, which has a couple of new old tunes on it I did a few years ago with HoTRocK, and
The Photo Gallery, which isn't open yet - but can you guess what it is yet?

So, how does it look to you?
Colour scheme?
Design?
Overall?

Oh, yeah, there's a few tunes there as well...

One quick comment - lose the intro "click to enter" page. It's adds nothing and since every click loses you a percentage (oft-quoted as 50%) of visitors, you're shooting yourself in the foot with it.

Done. :D

Heads Up! :)

Oooh, I like the fadey in and outy thing. Never been one for white backgrounds, though. A bit hard ion the eyes. Did you try with other colours?

About time I caught up on some Glassback music - getting my reviewing pants on now. Will report back in the cafe in a while

Thanks Miro. :D

The site's gone through a few transitions - a few months ago it was very black. Then I changed it to grey, now it's gone white.
I'm trying for a clean look.
I might take your comment on board though, and create a tiled background or something like that.
But I'm also trying to have the minimum amount of images, for quick-loading.
I'm also trying to keep it 800x640 res compatible.
Previously, what with fixed tables and suchlike, in that resolution, all you could see was a corner which meant you had to side-scroll as well as up and down scroll.
That was obviously a bad plan on my part, but in my defense, I was only learning  .

yeah looking good Mick, I too really like the fades between pages. :)

uncanny isn't it?

Yeah, even a background with some tiled image would be good, just to break the er..sheer whiteness of it all.

I'm just learning too. Been fiddling around with some ideas on a friend's english school webpage it's actually quite fun when you know some basics, innit?

Thanks peeps - I was kinda hoping to get some 'do this, do that' feedback.
So far, the white background's been commented on and another person told me the orange font on green background was like having cateracts.

The orange on green works for me - red didn't, it kinda shimmered and was hard to read - maybe that's a colourblindness thing?

Anyway - the transition between pages...
It's a really really simple piece of code (a lot of webdesigners hate transition effects mind you) and if anybody's interested, there's a funky little programme that I really should make more use of.
I used it to create that effect and I was going to put a link to their site if anybody should want to grab it, but their site's been trying to open for the past 10 minutes or so, so I've uploaded it to my site.
If you want to grab it, you can get it here:

WebMaster Tools exe

No need to install it, it's a really small programme that just sits on your hard drive and offers a few interesting ideas.

Yes indeed! :D

BTW, I love that foto album that turns it's pages.

OK, some minor redesigns:
I've dumbed the white background down with a reasonably subtle tiled thingy.

And I've put the 'Back To Top' button in a more logical position plus eliminated one or two extraneous tables that were really just for spacing.

How's it look for now?
