Here's my submission for the One Synth Challenge # 127 - 'Identity Crisis'
Made using 24 instances of Zebra 2
DAW: Ableton Live 10
4 instances of Protoverb
Stock Ableton plugins used: 11 Autopan, 7 Glue Comp, 1 EQ8, 1 Comp, 1 Drumbus.
Master Bus processing: 1 EQ8, 1 Glue Comp and 1 Ableton Limiter.
All other FX used were native to Zebra.
Most of the patches are tweaked factory or freely downloadable presets. I only got licenses for both of Live 10 and Zebra 2 very recently, so I used this as a chance to get to know them both a bit, and had a blast doing so in all honesty.

So, here is my (first OSC!) entry!

I like stories, so I tried to tell a little one with my song (to be honest, I always feel that it helps me a lot when arranging all the parts and making something "consistent"):

I was inspired after revisiting a place that used to be special for me.
So this song is about revisiting a special place you felt emotionally very attached, but isn't special anymore.
Starts with some kind of "melancholic feeling" you have whenever you go to that place (so thats why the sad/creepy/eerie atmosphere at the beginning (with the "thunder", ~rain and wind synths).

I made it first on the piano (very inspired by an Italian pianist, Ludovico Einaudi), and then I transformed it into some kind of outrun track, because I felt it would be nice, and I also like Outrun a lot.

The part with the "car synth" accelerating agressively, represents the will to leave behind the place and and forget all the memories.

1:44 is the moment when you feel not affected after going to that place, you feel happy

But 2:00 is the part when you start remembering all the memories that made that place special

After that your thoughts get worse.

There is a solo divided in 2 parts that alternates consecutively; the part with long notes,
and the part with the fastest ones.
The first part with the long notes, for me, represents your brain, trying to take control over your feelings (with an ascending slow melody (~optimistic))

The rapid is like a chaotic spiral; all the thought that comes to your mind when remembering all the memories.

Personally, I liked a lot the "wobble" sound I used on the solo (I don't know if its
clearly recognizable). Differs a lot with the overall sound on the song, but for me
represented like something vibrating inside you.

This round is truly an excitement. I've waited a long time to run a full scale test for Repro since I own it from the release. This synth is one of the most interesting on the market for sure. Not only because it (they, two synths) preciesly emulates it's hardware counterpart but also because it is capable of so many interesting sounds, both vintage and modern. I think I can make a whole album with Repro synths.

The track itself may be not so "shows off the synthesizer potential". A poor time management and a bunch of RL troubles (got my PC broken yesterday), but I think it is better than nothing.
