pardon me, I was speaking strictly power tubes when I said octal based...be an interesting question for Jim though, maybe he'd make me a socket adapter plate

The TC Electronic Tube Pilot is fairly priced, a tone control would be nice. Here's a video on YT showing the tube glowing.

I built the Brian May Treble Booster at GGG years ago...I haven't used it much though, it's ok but not really needed for me
