:) Hi everyone. Ive been using the demo now with reason 2.5 and it rocks so far.

Now I want to buy it. So heres my stupid question,I read a review for tracktion and they mentioned when you buy it its a patch or whatever thats computer specific.
So here goes, I have a music only computer and this one on the internet. Am I going to be able to buy it then install it on my music only pc or does this mean I can only use it on my internet pc?

I know its probly a dumb question?
Of course I only want to run it on my Daw.

Just want be sure.
Thanks for any info.

Cheers! Andy

Reason 2.5 is not challenge/response. You'll need your registration card you recieve with the purchase to register the software on propellerhead's website & that's it.

You can download Tracktion on any machine. However, you have to install it on the machine that you're going to run it on.

Tracktion (like some other software products) uses "challenge-response" copy protection. A machine-specific code, in conjunction with your serial number, is used to lock the software to the machine it's installed on. Most programs with this type of protection allow two or three different installs - home and office, desktop and laptop, internet and music machines, etc.

You follow the instructions on the program for getting a machine-specific reg code. Most programs like this have a provision for using a different machine for music purposes than internet purposes, but in general it's easier to authorize it on a machine that's connected to the internet at registration time.

My views on this type of copy protection are in my sig :D but I have a couple of programs (music and otherwise) that use it.
