Just did an annoying vocal session in a studio with a dumbass of an engineer, and took the whole logic files (Mac) with me on a cd. Now, I don't work with logic on my PC, but with Nuendo -- if I go into the audio folder, there is no extension. Can somebody tell me how to open this in either wavelab, sound forge or nuendo? What file format is it? Thanks!

You'll have to be nice to dumbass to discover that little tidbit. Logic can record WAV, AIFF or SDII filetypes. So you'll need to ask him which one he uses.

I don't think PCs can read SDII files (please correct me if I'm wrong...) but you could try appending .wav or .aif(f) to the end of the file and seeing what happens.

Dumbass will probably not even know, since he couldn't find his way around the program when he started tracking. But indeed, SDII is most likely the file format, I have had that before. I think awave is the only program being capable of converting such files ... thanks for the tip!

Glad to help :)

If you ever need to ask dumbass you can give him the following instructions:

1. Go to the Audio Menu
2. Select Audio Preferences
3. Check the "Recording File Type" parameter to see what filetype is selected.

The default is SDII, other options are (of course) AIFF and WAVE.
