Two of my all time favories are the Byrds "Hey Mr. Spaceman" and an album called Sounds of the Zodiak. The first is about meating spacemen and the second one I use to listen to while spaced out on acid. That counts doesn't it.
I tend to "gravitate" to space themes in most of my music as well.

Since I've just been asked for a collection of spacerock CDs to bring along to a gig tonight, I can easily mention:
Anything by Galactic Cowboys.
Virtually anything by Hawkwind, but especially the whole of the Alien 4 album.
Anything by Litmus' (awesome first album - You Are Here).
Anything by Spacehead.

omg I saw him...I had this thing, Iwent to every opening act. He opened for Asia on their first tour....fwiw it was a great show, but I wasn't suppose to go. My best friend got the tickets for him and his sister, but at the last minute she cancelled...chrissy boy was pretty boring, but we just high then anyhow...but asia blew my mind.vurt wrote:chris de burgh that one that goes lalalalalalalalalalalalalalala
In answer to the question peter what's his name (benchly...no he was the guy with the big fish, shilling?? That might be it) did that song that was part two of space oddessy (major tom) in the 80's and blue oyster cult did astronomy, deep purple had space truckin and zebra had who's behind the door, which suggested we were the pets of another planet...one of the best lines ever "how much do really know more then a flower about whose behind the door"...
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

Ooberman's 'Open the Hatch' is the best astronaut-related song I've ever heard. The most heartbreaking too.
