Not sure if any one else mentioned this yet, but there is a special event/announcement from Spitfire Audio today.
Any guesses as to what it is?

A couple ideas people had on Facebook were a London Symphony Orchestra sample library and/or subscription plan.

I wonder how many orchestral sample libraries are enough. This is one of the worst things about kontakt. 90% of the kontakt devs abandon all their libraries after the initial release and don´t update them ever again. Instead, they are releasing the same stuff with different marketing over and over again,
Its over for Bitwig--CUBASE WON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe they won’t be using the Kontakt format any more?

That's what I'm hoping. all their existing libraries now in the dedicated plugin
'and when we got bored, we'd have a world war...'

Was my question too. Their FAQ mentioned that they'll still produce Kontakt-based libraries.
My curiosity is what else they have planned, which was a point made repeatedly during their keynote.
It's the music that makes the science worthwhile.

I totally understand why they released this product and I totally respect Spitfire Audio as a company that is know to produce high quality sample library’s.
But I still don’t get why they don’t have ‘Light’ versions of the products or some other way, perhaps a steaming/on line player that allows you to get a feel for there products to see if your productions are ready to take advantage of there instruments.
A subscription based model, I.e ‘Monthly Licence Update’ would be amazing to gain some access into this kind of world, so you can make a truly informed judgment.
I just walk on bye this kind of thing, which seems a damn shame.

I don't think that can be levelled at Spitfire, their existing libraries are often subject to updates. The existing Symphony Orchestra range is due for a "Pro" version update next year apparently, extra mic positions, etc.enCiphered wrote: Wed Aug 28, 2019 5:43 pm I wonder how many orchestral sample libraries are enough. Anyway, after all this long wait, BBC SO is finally being released tomorrow.
