If you are using it with a midi keyboard try this...

In "Session View"

Assign "Scene Select" (row) to the mod wheel.
Assign each "Track Launch" (column) to a midi key.

Jam.

Funny you should mention, was it you who posted this tip some time ago?

I tried it, and i can link my Mod wheel to scene select, but when i try to hook up the scene select/launch it doesn't respond. In other words, it accepts my chosen key when in MIDI map mode, but then the key (or button on my MK-449C keypad) doesn't actually launch anything when i try it, though mod wheel bit works fine.

Any newbie mistake i might be making? :)

Quince,

It's about launching individual clips not scenes.
The mod wheel selects the row, and the key selects the clip (in that row) to be launched.

p.s. set the global quantise to 1 bar or greater unless you want the clip to launch out of sync.

Sorry i misunderstood you there, you want to launch individual clips with a differen keys.

However i still want to do what i said, and use mod wheel to select scene, then launch that scene with a midi key.

Like i said i hooked it up, but the scene launch doesn't seem to work. I checked the manual and everything, can't figure out what i'm doing wrong.

Ok quince try this:-

Go into midi map mode.
Four new buttons appear under "stop clips" in the master channel. They are "Scene Launch", "Scene Up", "Scene Down" and "Scene Select".
Assign "Scene Select" to the mod wheel.
Assign "Scene Launch" to, say, C3.
Get out of midi map mode.

Use the mod wheel and C3 to launch required scene.

Thats exactly what i did, and why i'm so confused that the scene launch isn't working. Its not the end of the world, doing it with mouse isn't exactly tricky.

hmmm, curious.

The only problem I had was that my kb was sending "All notes off" when I released a key. Once I'd filtered that out things worked fine.
In midi map mode, does "C3" appear on the scene launch button?

Ok thats weird, i just tried it again and it works fine.

:?

Cool, now try mapping the individual "Track Launch" buttons to other keys. It's the bollocks.

I just tried this and everytime I launch the highlighted scene it moves down one scene and launches the scene. Hitting the launch scene button it shouldn't move scenes right. I'm on version 4.03 maybe I should try updating?
